Reassemble the camera lens

Disassemble the camera and free up the shutter button; or replace it from another parts camera bought from ebay.

The lens thred is 58mm on F828, however a 58mm lens hood does not work; I have both a reverseable and a regular 58mm flower hood that extends 1/2" to the front of the lens causing dark corners on 28mm focal length. In addition, the lens itseft has built in receiver for hood as labled in the manual, I am thinking to get a 62mm or 60mm reversable hood and match up with the receiver on the lens

Make sure Flash Shoe option is Off in setup menu then check flash light.
Does camera give any blinking error code when flash fails to fire?
Does flash pop up when you press shutter button to take picture in low light?
Let me know to find out possible cause of problem.

I'm not sure what you mean by "loose". Does it still take good pictures? If not, then Sony is correct...the camera was introduced in 2003 and the cost of repair would far exceed the camera's worth.

The DSC-F828 doesn't have a black&white mode. However, just about any photo editing program will have the ability to convert color photos to black&white. Doing so on a computer will give you much better control over things like brightness and contrast than you would get if you just let the camera do it.

CCD FAILURE

Call Sony they will do it FREE it is a known manufac fault dont worry just call them and ask them about BAD CCD

My friend told me to take out the battery for over one hour and put it back and use the reset button if required. It works o.k. now!

Uf you have the software disk - then maual is probably on that as a a PDF file. If not try Sony Tech support
