User's Guide

To find any Dell PC user guide you can go to Dell.com, mouse hover over For Home, select Technical Support, Drivers & Parts and in the left hand column select Manuals.
From there enter in your Service Tag (recommended and all Dell computer have one) or Select Model.

Dell 1420 the twoon touch pad don't respond and the usb ports don't respond so i cannot connect a mouse neither can use the touch pad buttons I am dead on the water help!

LOL, didn't you know windows 7 was just a tad bit better than vista? Why do you think microsoft will be coming out with windows 8 in the coming months by the fall of this year. They keep trying to get it right.

Go to Dell's site and see if there are Window's 7 drivers for your model. If not, try downloading and installing the Windows Vista drivers. Right now, you might not have a driver or a good driver.

Get online and got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "Dell Support" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operating system when requested. Download and install the Touchpad drivers and the Chipset (which has the usb ports).

I cannot get my numbers to work on my dell laptop. I only have the numbers across the top. Cant find a number lock key I can't use the numbers on my log in page but can in safe mode. ??????? Plz some...

Please check with external keyboard. There should be numlock on your laptop keyboard. here you not mentioned your dell laptop model. Please read the user manual of your laptop model on dell site. If possible please provide your laptop model, so that we can find the user manual .

what model number is the mouse ?
did this happen after you installed new software on your computer ?
perhaps the mosue needs new batteries (some wirelss input devices require AAA batteries)
what is the Dell desktop model number ?
have you gone to the wesbite of the mouse manufacturer, to see if there is an update driver ?

Get out your your Magnifying glass ... it can't be further on the board then the cable would reach... on my insprion it is almost below where the touchpad sits. also dell has service manuals available for viewing from their site... just click on support and search for your model number
