It is 6A302956W I have it registered in my name, Michelle Kear, mailing address of 10155 Peppermint Cir #66 Jamestown, Ca 95327. I have filed a report with the local shieffs department but they are not being very helpful, my case number is #11-2042 deputy D. Vasquez #1585 (209)533-5815 is the person that took my report. I tried logging onto my Facebook today and it came back with a security breech saying my last log in was in Southern California and asked if I had been in that area and logged in. Since I have not been down there they had me reset my password. Can you help me locate my laptop??

It is impossible to locate your laptop.
With your next laptop you should protect it with a Power On Password AND put a password on your hard disk. This will stop anyone from using your laptop and if they move the hard disk from your laptop to another laptop they cannot access the data on your hard disk with the hard disk password.
BUT you need to write down or remember these passwords, if you lose or forget them you cannot gain access to your laptop.
There are no backdoor passwords to remove these passwords.
To setup or change these passwords, go to the BIOS configuration - then security configuration.

Lost ipod touch

Your iPod is a tempting and easy target for thieves because they are expensive, small and easy to steal. Because they are so small, they are also easy to lose. It used to be that if you lost your iPod, it was gone forever. Now, there are ways you can find it. However, there are steps you\'ll need to take to make recovering your potentially lost or stolen iPod easier. Read on to learn how to find a lost iPod.

Register your iPod with Apple and keep a record of your serial number to help you find your iPod if it is lost. You can go to Apple\'s website to register online and create an Apple ID name and password if you don\'t have one already with iTunes. Type in your serial number, which is found on the back of your iPod, after logging in and fill in your address and phone number. If someone calls Apple to report finding your lost iPod, Apple will call you on the phone number listed in your profile. Obtain iGuard tracking protection software online through their website. After you pay the fees for the service and register on their website, they can help you locate your iPod if it is stolen. After reporting it stolen, iGuard will contact you via email with the location of the device (IP address, PC user name, ISP and city and state) as soon as your iPod is connected to a computer with an Internet connection. Register your iPod with the Lost iPods site. With a $5 payment, Lost iPods will provide you with a sticker on your iPod where the person who has found your iPod can contact Lost iPods and if someone reports a serial number of an iPod found on their site, they will immediately contact you. Purchase protection for your iPod with GadgetTrak and register on their website. Install their agent files onto your iPod and if your iPod gets lost or stolen, simply log into your account on GadgetTrak\'s website and activate the tracking for your iPod. As soon as your iPod is used on a computer with Internet access, you will be contacted with all the information about the computer and location. You will even be provided with a map pinpointing the exact location of the user of your iPod. Post an ad in the paper or on Craigslist asking for the return of your lost iPod. Explain exactly when and where you lost your iPod and offer a reward if you can. Though rare, it has happened that people who have found iPods have returned them due to ads they have read in the paper or online. Report your stolen iPod with the police if you are a victim of theft. Give them the serial number and description of your device when doing so to better your chance of finding your iPod.

Someone stole my blackberry

If your mobile phone is lost or stolen you can inform your cell phone provider with your IMEI number. Your cell phone provider can then put the serial number on a shared database. This list stops this particular phone from registering on any network and will be useless for anyone even if the mobile phone's SIM card is changed.

Someone stole my credit card number through a skipper at gas station and ran out and bought 5 iPads at the mall. Is there ANYWAY to track these iPads if I have the serial numbers?? I want to find this guy...

the bank should honour the debit from the theft
notify all service providers of the stolen serial numbers so that any attempt to connect can be traced
contact the FBI as well
what happened to the daily use limit that you should have had on then card or the bank flagging the same purchases repeated on the same equipment and stopping payment on more than 2

My loptop was stolen. Is there a way to track to see if the serial number has been re-registered?

If you have already registered your laptop, I'd suggest calling the 1-800 number and providing them with your original purchase information, proving you were the original owner and then ask your question of them. Sometimes, stolen laptop which are in warranty are then taken back into the manufacturer in order to try and obtain a refurbished replacement, and this is a good way to track it.

I know this isn't an elegant solution, and hope you find your laptop soon.

Someone stole my sons netbook I wanted to know if it could be tracked.

If there was GPS software on it is one way. The other is to report serial # to police and they notify pawn shops locally to list of "hot" items to watch for.

Can i find my garmin if someone stole it out of my car? it is the Streetpilot c330.

not likely, unless you have the serial number. you can make a police report and if the item is pawned it will find its way back to you. back tracking a stolen gps will be impossible unless yu have a tracking devise installed on the gps.

I had a laptop stolen out of my car are there numbers that can be traced if i hava a regestration on it or am i just out a pc

If you have the MAC address you might be able to track it down if its ever used.
Also try contacting your manufacturer if you have any documentation or serial numbers of your laptop. Your manufacturer or retail store might have a service, or can track whether someone else re-registers it,

Besides that all you can really do is hope.
When an item is stolen many times its hard to track down because of the surplus amount of stolen items.

The MAC address i think is ur best bet, but you'd have to dig around and its not going to be worth it, because the mac address is officially embeded on your laptops hardware, Most thieves are not smart enough to realize that.
