When I updated yahoo mail this June 2011, I experienced a problem with creating new emails. I cannot open a new page to compose emails, cannot reply and the shortcut N doesn't work. I have tried with another account still with the same results.

Hi,

This might be a problem with your web browser, and not with Yahoo specifically.
To resolve this issue please try the following:

Go to this Microsoft link: http://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=9726336
Download and run the file when prompted, and click yes to all the prompts.
Restart Internet Explorer and try to use Yahoo mail again.

This is not tech support for Yahoo. Nobody here changed your email box, so we can't actually get into their system to "fix" it.

That being said, if you are using the latest version of Yahoo! Mail, just click on "Compose" near the top left of the page. That will open a new email that you can compose and send. More information is available on Yahoo's help page:

Unable to compose, reply, or forward in Yahoo Mail for the last 2-3 days

The inability to send, reply, or forward emails could be from a program that was installed on your computer that is now preventing the Yahoo! Mail Rich Text toolbar from launching properly. Try switching from "Rich Text" compose mode to "Plain Text" as a work around:
  1. Sign in to your Yahoo! Mail account.
  2. Click the New button to start a new email.
  3. To the far right of the "Subject" line click the "Plain Text link.
  4. Compose and send your email.
To make "Plain Text" your default when replying or forwarding, do this:
  1. Sign in to your Yahoo! Mail account.
  2. Click "Options," then select "More Options" from the pull down arrow in the upper right corner of your Mail page.
  3. Select "General" from the list of options on the left side of the page.
  4. Check the box next to; When replying & forwarding Mark original message with > (plain text only).
  5. Click the "Save Changes" button in the upper left corner.

Think i have deleted yahoo mail cookie as cant open my mail how can i fix this?

For those who can't get in at all try this as it seems to be working for a few.

Login on My Yahoo! page
Select the link at top right to go to Yahoo!'s Home Page.
Mouse over the Mail Icon under where it says (Hi, your Yahoo! id).
You should get a drop down menu with your latest emails displayed.
Select an email and click it. You then get to a new page about Shortcuts, but just select the button for Mail and it should take you to your Mail page.
It wasn't getting redirected to the shortcuts page on some servers and not going to the mail page.
This is also working for some:
Click the "Options" link in the upper right of your Mail page.
On the Options page, in the "Management" column, click on "General Preferences".
Find the "Composing E-mails" section, "Mode:", and choose "Compose messages as plain text".
Scroll to the bottom and click the "Save" button.
Now try it. Can you Compose, Reply to a message or Forward?
This is working for some also:
Make sure your screen resolution is 1024 by 768 pixels. Right click on your desktop, click Properties, click the "Settings" tab, left click and hold on the screen resolution bar and drag it all the way to the right, click Apply and click OK

Please make sure that you are using the updated Internet Explorer.

No "Compose" button in my Yahoo account

hi,
Well there is no compose button in yahoo. Now there is a button labelled as "New".
You need to click on this to compose an email.
This button is just beside the Check Mail button.

In some cases the users are not able to read or see the incoming mail. In that case situation the user might receive the mail to spam folder or to the junk mail. So for that user can create filters for their incoming mail so just follow the step:
•Login to your mail account.
•Go to the "settings" of the folder
•Click on the option of "Filters" appears on the left side.
•Sort incoming emails in the respective folder.
•Provide the name of the filter.
•Choose the components for filters.
•Click on Save.

Yahoo email will not compose or move mail, continuously loading

Open Internet Explorer.
Press [Alt] + [T] + [O]
Choose the Advanced tab from the menu.
Click on the [Reset] button below the Reset Internet Explorer Settings b section.
Close Internet Explorer.
Remove all versions of JRE (Java Runtime Environment).
Install JRE 1.4.2_08
Open Internet Explorer and open the Yahoo mail page.
Hopefully you should now be able to compose new mails and view the existing emails.

alot of the times, just going into internet options and setting everything to default, and clearing the cookies and files works about 50% of the time.

This is possibly a yahoo issue. If you use yahoo thru ATT, you can call ATT for support and they will escalate any valid issues to yahoo for you.

Their phone number is 1-877-722-3755

ask for tech support at the prompt

they can remote on your computer to see if it is a java issue or whatever

if they can replicate it on their computer also, they will create a yahoo trouble ticket and give you thier member service number. Yahoo resolves 85% of these within 48 hrs.

If they cant replicate it, then they will consider it a pc issue and refer you to connect tech or to best buy's geek squad.

Personally, I would also try sending emails in safemode, If you can do it in safemode, and not in reg mode, it is definately PC related.

To get to safemode, turn your computer off and when you turn it back on, tap the F8 button until you get an advanced screen. Pick safemode with networking with the arrow keys. Log in, click yes when it tells you you're running in safemode, and then when your on your desktop, which will look alot differnt, black background with big icons, click on internet explorer and go to mail.yahoo.com and see if it works now, if it does, like i said, its pc related. If it still cant, call ATT's support if you have thier DSL or U-Verse

Can't delete email or compose or reply

my best suggestion is for you to forward all your mail from this account to another account (just create another yahoo account) and make sure spam filters are on the new account while you get yahoo to fix the problem. they will fix it since you have paid a subscription to it. the minimum they should do is forward ur mail for you.

ps don't forget to change the reply-to field to your email address.
