Suddenly pink vertical lines where it should be white. plus a flickering screen. Sony VIO 3 years old

Hi.If you have a Nvidia Graficcard, it could be it.overheating problem at the motherboard.you need 2 replace motherboard, or reflow, reball graficchip.it's a common problem at Nvidia 6XXX, 7XXX, 8XXX model grafics..

You can try to update your video driver from dell at "support.dell.com".
You will need to enter the service tag number of your laptop and follow the instructions to download the driver.

The problem is that the panel has failed. Apparently this is a common problem with LCD TV's between 18 mths and 3 yrs old. If it survives over 3 yrs it is likely to last for a few years longer. The cost of replacing the panel is more than a replacement TV!

Connect an external monitor to your laptop, if you get a clear image on this monitor the the video card in the laptop is OK.

The fault could be a defective inverter that supplies high voltage to the CCFL lamp or a faulty CCFL lamp. Most likely a faulty CCFL lamp.

Defective CCFL backlight may has the following symptom:

• Screen flashs on red/pink and off.
• Picture stays on in red and slowly be come normal.
• Picture flickering with dim display.
• Picture flickering on and off.

All these symptoms indicate that the LCD backlight lamp (CCFL Lamp) as reached the end of the life and all you need to do is replacing the CCFL lamp

The inverter can be replaced easily but the CCLF lamp is more time consuming and requires soldering skills.

Sounds like a hardware problem. You should probably return it as soon as possible.

Had this same issue on right side of 52" about 1 inch from side but had 3 vertical lines that disappeared after 40 minutes. Have Samsung LNT5265FX/XXA and about 16 months old. LCD Panel itself had to be replaced to fix it, fortunately had extended service plan

This is a component failure
If the camera is less than a year old return it to the seller.
If older than a year but a current model contact Sony who may replace it free of charge.
There have been recall on some models because of component malfunction

it's called retrace lines ,your screens are set to high or focus block assy which has the screen adjustments on it also is faulty
