I was using Yahoo Messenger 9 then updated to 10. Once I updated the Yahoo Messenger User Id become disabled. I uninstalled the Yahoo Messenger then installed Yahoo Messenger 10 again, still got the same...

Hi there,
It seems that you tried to save your ID with Password to automatically login option, and by chance the id was empty, and it is mixed in Registry of your windows,
Step 1: Uninistall the yahoo messenger from your computer from control panel also remove yahoo browser services or toolbars installed
Step 2: Go to program files folder and delete yahoo messenger folder C:\program files\yahoo
Step 3: What you can do is to clear the registry entries of Yahoo messenger, Download C cleaner from the link below
Download Ccleaner
When download finishes, Install the ccleaner in you system, just run the setup file and follow on-screen instructions, to install, This program is basically for cleaning system temporary files and also has the addon to fix registry errors,

Installation Process:
1. Click next to continue bilalseham_7.jpg
2: Select I agree
bilalseham_8.jpg
3: Choose the options you required for your software

4: After the software installation is finished select to run the ccleaner bilalseham_10.jpg
5: Select Yes for cookie scan bilalseham_11.jpg
6: On main interface you will see Registry button in ccleaner software. Click on Registry
bilalseham_12.jpg
7: CLick on Analyze and it will scan all the registry for errors
bilalseham_13.jpg
8: It will now show you registry error files, Click on fix selected issues
bilalseham_14.jpg
9: now it will prompt you to backup registry, its a good thing to backup your registry incase if it gives you any error you can restore the registry later on
bilalseham_15.jpg
10: Save to the local drive or external media
bilalseham_16.jpg
11: After saving registry backup you will now see the screen to fix errors, (Error count will depend upon the softwares installed on your system. Select fix all selected issues

Yahoo messenger account nothing but an yahoo account or yahoo email account or yahoo ID. Open www.yahoo.com and click create email account or you may click Get a new yahoo ID from yahoo messenger (bottom side). One form will come - fill up the form carefully. While putting the yahoo (new) ID - you should click "Check" to verify available ID. Click create new account. Now may use this yahoo ID for checking email as well as for yahoo messenger.

Can i download messenger 10 over my messenger 9

You can download version 10 on your computer and then update YM, running the setup. You cannot have 2 versions of YM on your computer.
If you want to connect to id's at a time use the following: You have to use a multi messenger registry and after you run that registry you will be able to open Yahoo Messenger how many times you want.
Here is a link for the specific registry: http://www.softpedia.com/get/Internet/Chat/Instant-Messaging/Yahoo-Multi-Messenger.shtml
http://messenger.ro.im/ym-multi-messenger-for-ym-9-beta.htm
On the second link scroll down and look for "AICI" and click on it to download.
If you need further assistance, just leave a comment. Cheers

I need to get my contacts back

Your contacts list is stored online, you can change versions and contacts transfer. Not sure what you mean by disconnected ( from what? yahoo, messenger,) Do this,
Use info below to delete present version completely then if you want to try 9 again and are using Vista go here for help.
http://www.ymessengerblog.com/blog/2008/10/27/installing-90-on-windows-vista/

Messenger 9 for Vista users and XP users with 9, Mess 9 has many unsolved problems and missing features that messenger 8.1 or 8.0 has. Plus now the updated Windows Firewall will not let Messenger download correctly. And is causing 9 users to have problems now.. The only option that might help is going to the control panel and turning off the firewall to download and install then turning it back on.Then click on windows fire wall, Exceptions tab. make sure messenger is checked,if not listed then add it to the list.then click save.
.If the fire wall still causes problems, then revert back to 8.1 or 8.0 these and all versions of messenger can be found here; http://www.freecreed.com/ymsgr-archive.html
You need to remove version 9,or present version, 1st to get another version to work. To remove Messenger version Use Unwise located middle of page of Messenger Folder.Make sure Automatic is checked! then continue to uninstall..Or use control panel ,Vista-program features or XP-add/remove this is the 2nd best way. If you just delete the Yahoo file to remove messenger, you will also lose the shared file that contains things needed on other Yahoo sites. Your contacts are stored online But if you want to save your old messages archives, they are saved on your PC in the messenger file you are about to delete.Go here and copy them to a new folder
Start>my computer>c:drive>program files>yahoo>messenger>profiles>(your ID)>archive>messages
