Mission 70asa subwoofer: The subwoofer worked fine for years- now, when I plug it in, it immediately makes a very loud, distorted, unpleasant BBRRRAAAAA... sound. What's the deal? Is it toast?

Speaker suddenly emits very loud noise. Have to unplug it.

Bad capacitor(s). Happened to mine too. Opened it up to find 2 completely blown apart, and 1 bulging. Relatively cheap and easy to replace.

Hi, I have a Mission M5AS Sub and for some reason it has just stopped working. The power light is on, but it doesn't become active when music is played. Simple to resolve or a job for Mission? Any...

Hi, yes there is a rather simple method for testing the actual subwoofer unit, simply plug in a known good rca cord into the input-make sure if there is a switch for level input that it is on the back make sure it is switched to line and not level, next plug in rca cord, turn on unit-stick tip of finger on tip of rca cable. This should gernerate a"HUMM" in the subwoofer if everything is working correctly. Thanks for choosing FixYa, I hope this was of some help, good luck Prodzilla.

Main 5 1/4 driver cuts in and out, and distorted sound. what is the cheapest and the best way to fix this problem?.

probably the the wire connecting the cone and terminals at speaker are short.hold them with you fingers so that they cant move up and down with bass.if working fine then get them soldered.

Polk subwoofer making crackling noises

Yea, now its time to replace it! the magnetic effect is weaken which makes the very bass low frequency sound to be distorted! You should re engergise the magnet of the subwoofer or should buy the new!

It depends on what you want. Is your existing solution a surround sound system (You only mention a subwoofer, what other speakers do you have?)? Do you want full 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound? If you don't have this, and want it, your amp will have to be replaced, but your sub will fit in just fine. If you currently only have front left and right speakers, you will need to purchase a centre speaker and another pair (5.1) or two pairs (7.1) of speakers.
