Please install the drivers that are provided by the Motherboard manufacturer. The istallation discs are provided by the Motherboard manufacturer.

You should recognize the type of audio controllers your motherboard you are using.

Please search the drivers for your Motherboard(include the name and version) in the Internet and download the required Audio drivers and run it in the computer.

No audio device after reformatting xp sp3..?

You need to install the audio driver for your model PC.

You can download the drivers from the Compaq/HP WEB support/download page. Make sure you select your model computer and the XP or Vista Windows version of the drivers you require and install them. Click on this link to download the drivers: -

I reformat my desktop computer with windows xp svc pack 2 . the problem have no sound . the motherboard is asustek model p4pe-xte .kindly give me solution

Hi,
If you have formatted your computer then the problem might be because the drivers for sound are not yet installed.
Please install the sound drivers and that should take care of the issue.
Right click on "My computer" --> Properties --> Hardware tab --> Device Manager
Under device manager, check the sound devices.. there might be a red cross (X) or Question mark (?) or a exclamation mark (!) indicating problem with the drivers .. just right click on the device and select update drivers and that should take care of it or if you have a sound driver CD/DVD, insert the same in the optical drive and install.

Let me know if that helps.

Srinivas

No audio

Hi

Quite likely, drivers for the audio controller is missing/not installed.

You did not give any info on the Operating System you installed and the sound card in question; Onboard or PCI Sound Card. I am assuming you have Windows XP or 2000 and using the builtin/onboard sound controller.

If this is correct, you will need to download and install ADI Onboard Sound Driver (Windows 2000/XP) - http://ftp.us.dell.com/audio/R94481.EXE

Let me know how you get on

Mike
