Service engine light and passlock light comes on , the needles on the dash all dive to zero then return to running position or the seat belt light comes on and off ,or the fuel light comes on and off. The wipers wipe slowly and the fan blows slow. Sometimes the rear defogger works well and other days it doesn't. I have noticed a higher occurance of problems on wet days.

Here is some info about the Passlock light. http://vatspasslockpasskeysecurityhelp.yolasite.com/ If this is happening while driving, the passlock failing could cause all the needles to jump around. It might be the connection between the key, ignition, and computer losing and then regaining connection.

2004 Chevy Silverado won't start, anti theft light stays on?

The brake warning light should not affect the truck not starting...most of the time is because of low brake fluid or the emergency brake is on. To check for codes you should just turn the key to the on position and you need to try resetting you anti theft light.

2005 town and country touring i want to disconnect the seatbelt warning light and chime?

1. Turn the ignition switch to the off position and buckle the seat belt
2. Turn the ignition switch to run (engine does not need to be running), wait for the seat belt light to turn off.
3. Within 60 seconds, unbuckle and rebuckle the drivers seat belt at least 3 times, ending with the seat belt buckled.
4. Turn the ignition key to the off position. A single chime will sound to signify that you have successfully completed the programming.

It can be reactivated by repeating these steps.

The alert will be deactivated but the warning light will continue to stay on will the belt is unfastened.

Headlight warning buzzer not working on 2006 toyota celica

instructions:
  • 1 Turn the ignition key to the "II" position.

  • 2 Check the lights on the dash. You should see a variety of dash lights light up. One of those lights will be a "Check engine" light. This light should stay lit with the ignition key in the "II" position. The rest of the lights should go out. If the "Check engine" light begins to blink, you may have a problem with one of the vehicle's electronic components. Consult your owner's manual or call your dealership for possible servicing issues.
  • 3 Start the engine. The "check engine" light should go out after a few seconds. If it does not, this can indicate either a maintenance interval has been reached or a more serious problem with the vehicle's emissions control system. Again, it is advised to consult your owner's manual or call the dealership for service.
  • 4 Check for an illuminated "SRS" light on the dash. The SRS light indicates a problem with the supplemental restraint system, i.e., the airbag, on the Camry. This needs to be serviced by a professional mechanic.
  • 5 Check for an oil light on the dash. The oil light is in the shape of a small oil canister. When this lights up, it indicates low oil pressure. Low oil pressure is caused by a blockage in the system, a weak oil pickup or oil pump, or low oil levels in the engine. Check and see if your Camry is overdue for an oil change. It is recommended that the oil be changed at 5,000 miles or every six months.
  • 6 Check for the low fuel warning. The fuel light on the Camry is on the fuel gauge near the "E" on the gauge face. The low fuel light means that you have to refuel your vehicle.
  • 7 Check for the seat belt warning light. The seat belt warning light is a picture of a figure wearing a seat belt. If your seat belt is unbuckled, then this light will illuminate (along with a warning chime) indicating that you should buckle up.
  • 8 Check for an orange car with lights on (on the dash lights). This warning light indicates that one or both of your brake lights has failed, or the electrical resistance in the bulb filament indicates that it is about to fail and will need service soon.

03 grand am 3.4l no crank at all. All the light on dash work good fuel pressure starter spins and engine starts and then stalls when jumping the starter directly installed new pass lock switch and...

If the Passlock switch has been replaced, the computer has to "learn" the new Passlock code. You will need to hook up a battery charger to perform the learning process. (It takes about 30 minutes with the key in the "ON" position and it will run the battery down.)

    Step 1:

Turn the key to the "START" position and release to the "RUN" position. The "SECURITY" light will be flashing. After about 10 minutes, the light will stop flashing.
    .
    Step 2:

Turn the key "OFF" then back to the "RUN" position. (Do NOT try to crank it yet) The light will start flashing again. Wait about 10 minutes for it to stop flashing.
    .
    Step 3:
    .
Turn the key "OFF" and back to "RUN" one last time. The light will be flashing again. This time, when it stops flashing, do not turn the ignition off. Instead, turn the key from the "RUN" position to "START". The engine should start and run. The computer has now learned the new Passlock code.

91 honda ex, passenger front seat belt is not working and the light in the dash board keeps lit, I have check the fuses for it, and all the connection to the belt and it seems all intact...any advise?

Your 1991 model Accord has automatic front retracting shoulder belts and, more than likely, the power retractor motor has gone bad on the passenger side front. If the shoulder seat belt is not in the retracted position, up close against the seat, when the car is running, the seat belt light will stay lit on your dash. Have the seat belt motor inspected and replaced if necessary.

We have just service our 1998 Jeep Cherokee Larano as per the service schedual I cant get rid of the service now off the dash, how can I remove this & reset for the next service

    If it has a service indicator light in the middle of the dash then try this;

    1. Turn the ignition to the run position but do not start the engine.

    2. Press the "Set" button until "0 Miles To Service" is displayed.

    3. Then hold the button just below the "Set" button down until "3000" is displayed.

On some applications you might also have to hold the "Set" button down.

    If you have an overhead console computer try this;

    1. Turn the ignition to the run position but do not start the engine.

    2. Press the "Step" button until you see Zero Miles To Service displayed.

    3. Then press and hold "RESET" until the display resets.
