SOURCE: I just purchased new blank Maxell dvd-rw

Get a CD/DVD laser lens cleaner - the kind with optical quality brushes sticking out of the bottom of the disk. Run this in the player/recorder a couple times. Should clear it up.

You can get them at Best Buy, Radio Shack, online, etc...

SOURCE: dvd won't play my dvd's. keep saying no

Memorex MVD2016BLK Progressive Scan DVD Player, Black (Electronics)
suddenly began having problems - stuttering, claiming 'wrong disc', stuck in standby and unable to get it unstuck....was torn between throwing it out the window and buying a special cleaning disc. Instead went to the Memorex site and found the reset procedure, which WORKED! Try this for your frozen MVD2016. Reset procedure:
1 Press and hold power button
2 Unplug unit from electrical source without releasing the button
3 Keep holding button for 60 seconds
4 release and reconnect.
5.watch your DVD.

How to rip DVD to Sony Ericsson Xperia Play

Xperia play is one of the Sony Ericsson smartphones running the Android operating system. The phone features 4.0 inch LED-backlit LCD screen and a 1GHz Scorpion processor CPU. It is the first PlayStation Certified device. For game fans, it's really a good choice. With this mazing smartphone, watching movies also seems cool.

As we all know, most portable devices can't play discs. Sony Ericsson Xperia Play is just one of them. Maybe you have a large collection of DVD discs. So play movies on Xperia Play will be a good enjoyment. But, in the first place, we should rip and convert DVD discs to Sony Ericsson Xperia Play supported formats. Here I use this Free DVD Ripper, it's a professional DVD tool. Below is the step-by-step guide:
Step 1. Download the DVD to Sony Ericsson Converter. install and run it. Then add your DVD file. DVD disc or ISO/IFO files all will be OK.
Step 2. Choose the suitable format for Sony Ericsson Xperia Play. i recommend you "Format < Android < Motorola Droid (x) H.264 Video (*.mp4)".
Step 3. Click on "Settings" to set the Size (pix) as 1280×720 ( Play 720P movies on your Xperia Play in full screen with High Quality ). Or, you can set its video resolution as 854×480 if you need, it also can full screen.
Tips: Click on the "save" to finish the settings. Or you can also click "save as" to rename (such as Sony Ericsson Xperia Play H.264 Video *.mp4) the profile for next use in Custom category of "Format".
Step 4. Click the " convert" to start the process.
After a short time, you will get the converted file. Then transfer it to XP. Now you can watch movies on Xperia Play as ease. Have fun!
More info: free dvd ripper for mac, free dvd ripper mac.
Won't complete the load disc process

Loading may mean it is not seeing the disc---A dirty or bad optical pickup is possible if you get this error with every disc.

Dvd's won't play on my sony dvd player

If making a noise the issue could be in the mechanism and or the motor that spins the disc---unless it is a real expensive and fairly new unit it would be better to just replace it.

No matter what DVD I load in the player, it won't play the DVD. It says "Cannot play this disk". What's the problem?

The first thing to try is to clean the laser itself by using a cleaning disc. If that fails then most likely the pickup laser is no longer any good. This is usually obvious if you place an audio CD in the unit and it plays fine : )

Samsung dvd player does not read dvd disc.it reads "no disc".

I also have a Samsung Dvd player. If it is a dvd you burned yourself it may not recognize the disc. If you have loaded a purchased or rented disc and it still won't load, I would say the head is dirty or the unit is defective. I would try a head cleaner first.available at most electronics stores If that doesn't work you probably will need to send it in for repair.
good luck
