Please note that I am using Windows XP so Vista may be slightly different but mostly similar.

Press Ctrl+Alt+Del and open the "Task Manager". Click "Processes" tab and check the box next to "Show processes from all users". Look for the file name of the web browser you are using and here are two common web browsers.

Microsoft Internet Explorer - iexplorer.exe (If you close explorer.exe by mistake, Windows XP users can go to "Applications", "New Task", and type in "C:/WINDOWS/explorer.exe" or Vista users can simply log out and log in through the task manager.)
Mozilla Firefox - firefox.exe

If you use a different web browser, right click the shortcut for your web browser and click "Properties". The file name will be after the last slash ( \ ) in the target box. File names usually end with ".exe".

Click the file name when you find it and click "End Process" but before you do, you are most likely viewing this with a web browser so this window (and all other windows for your web browser) will close as soon you end the proccess. This means make sure you finish what you are doing and be ready for it to close.

I can NOT download ANYTHING not even the fixya what can be the problem?

Hey Charlie, try the following:

  • Make sure you have the most up-to-date version of your browser by checking the version under "Help-About" in the menus.
  • go to links below for Internet Explorer and Firefox and Chrome
  • Download Web Browser Internet Explorer
  • Download Firefox Free Web Browser
  • Get fast free web browser (Google Chrome)
  • You might also use the above links to install a new browser to see if that makes a difference in downloading.
  • If you still cannot download even from these sites, try to right-click on the link and select the "Save link as..." option from the menu that pops open and try saving it to your desktop.
This is the simplest start to your solution because I am not able to look at your computer. I hope it helps!

Cookies wont allow downloading a photo

in your browser window, find the Tools tab on the Menu option. Click on Tools, find Internet Properties at bottom and click on it. On the General Tab find the 'Delete Cookies' button and click it. This will delete your browser cookies if using Internet Explorer. Refresh browser(close and open again). If the photo will still not download it might be 'protected' by the original photographer or site you are downloading from. You cannot download items that are 'privately protected' by owner or web site.

Internet shuts it self off

Whereas Internet Explorer is a very popular browser, you may have problems with it from time to time. Internet Explorer has been known to either randomly shut down or close pages. This can be extremely irritating, especially if you are in the middle of a project. Use these tips to fix Internet Explorer if it keeps closing Web pages.

Start by deleting your browsing history. Open Internet Explorer and click the "Safety" tab found in the top right corner of the Web browser. Then, choose the "Delete Browsing History" option. A box will appear on the computer screen. Make sure that there are checkmarks next to each option listed in the box. Click the "Delete" tab to delete the browsing history. Move to the next step if Internet Explorer keeps closing pages. Download, install and then run both an anti-malware and an anti-virus software program. http://majorgeeks.com/downloadget.php?id=4281&file=1&evp=dbb3b0aebe6a6a4ff18089a6489a5e62 anti malware free edition Win XP/2003/Vista/Windows7 http://www.majorgeeks.com/Microsoft_Security_Essentials_for_Windows_d6242.html microsoft security essentials your operating system must be registered Spyware, adware, viruses and other similar infections can cause Internet Explorer to shut down or close pages. Cant get internet explorer to work.browser is out of date.

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/internet-explorer/worldwide-sites.aspx

Go here and click the link on right for your operating system. A download will start. Once finished, run the file and follow the install instructions.

I assume you are using a different browser or a friend's computer to access FixYa.com. If you are on a different computer, simply download the IE file from the site above and stick it on flash drive or CD. Take that to your computer and copy and run.

Facebook stops working when i click on a tab

There seems to be an issue with your browser or the computer may be effected by spyware or Virus. Are you facing this issue only with Facebook or others website also?
You can try to use any other browser to confirm its a browser issue. Try to switch to google Chrome or Firefox.

If you are using Internet explorer you can try to re-install the Internet explorer by doing the following steps:
Go to control panel
Open Add/Remove programs
Windows component
look for Internet explorer
Un-install the Internet Explorer
Restart the computer.

Warning Box.

It sounds like it is a maleware issue, I would recommend downloading Spyware begone and a anti virus tool, and running both of these,

otherwise it could be an issue with your browser, try a different web browser. eg.. Firefox.
