When it shuts off and the green power light goes off, press both the menu and input buttons on the front of the set (not the remote) and hold both for about five seconds and release.
Power light will blink a two digit error code like 2 blinks and then 3 blinks and repeat it several times.
You could tripping the high temp limit this will be located near the heat exchanger When it shuts how long does the blower motor stay running? Do you have a meter?
Check that you have not got an auto power off setting on. Check that the aerial connections are good. That the signal is strong from the stations it is picking up. Weak signals can cause the box to shut down.
It the box is very hot when it shuts down, you might have a fault on it.
AFTER THE BURNER SHUTS DOWN THE 1ST TIME IT SHOULD COME BACK ON WITHIN 1 TO 3 MINUTES. WHEN THE BURNER TRIES TO COME BACK ON YOU'LL HEAR A CLICK AND THE GLOW OF THE IGNITOR SHOULD BE VISIBLE. AFTER 30 TO 60 SECONDS IGNITOR SHOULD FADE AND THE BURNER SHOULD FIRE. IF IGNITOR FADES AND BURNER DOES NOT FIRE YOU WILL NEED TO REPLACE BURNER COILS #279834. IF IGNITOR DOES NOT COME ON YOU WILL HAVE A T STAT OR SENSOR ISSUE. SOUNDS LIKE COILS TO ME. HOPE THIS HELPS PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CONTAT ME [email protected]. PLEASE RATE MY RESPONSE.
Since the set seems to recover somewhat, Id look for poor sonnections first rather than defective components. If you can solder and arecomfortable working inside the set, you may be able to fix this yourself. Are there any other symptoms other than just shutting down? For example, blinking standby lights?
well sounds like one of the players is not in correct spot thus shuts down (kinda timing issue) see if there is anything preventing it from going jiggle or turn upside down see if you hear anything.
