You need to buy a separate wireless adapter. I recommend a Linsys Wireless G USB/ with speed boost adapter at this time.

Dell Inspiron ethernet card plug bad, either send tower to Dell for 3 weeks or replace and bypass with new ethernet card PCI, any problems with doing this?

There should not be any problem with you buying your own PCI ethernet card and install it yourself. They are not that expensive. www.newegg.com has on for only $7.99 and it will work fine in your computer. It does not need to be from Dell.

No connection to the network

Hi, yes there is a way. Follow this is step. On your desktop, right click the My Computer icon with your mouse botton, then select manage and select Device Manager and then loofor Network Adaptor on the list. Click on the plus sign next to it and you should see how many network card you have.
Another way is click on Start Menu, Setting, Control Panel, and Click on Network Connection Icon. Check how many of Local Area Connection icons listed here.
