Good day. I have a memorex ultratravel drive USB 2.0 160GB. Everytime I connect to any computer I get the message:The pc does not recognize the USB device code 43. Please let me know what i can do. thanks a lot.

click start control panel administrive tools ,computer management ,device manager scroll down universal serial bus controllers you should see a yellow question mark?
right click to reinstall drivers or
if you can see your usb but its not working
ports(com&lpt)right click update driver or
scroll to disk drives if you can see your drive + to expand right click you should see options to update driver,disable,uninstall scan for hardware changes. or
select properties you should see options in the general tab to troubleshoot,policies,volumes,driver and details under the driver tab you will have the options to check the driver details,update driver,rollback driver or uninstall

try it to a known good USB port. if still unsuccessful connect it to another PC that has a known good USB port. if still unable to work. you might have a bad USB stick..

Problem Solved: My MMP8567 screen read ''boot error shutting down''.
Everytime I plugged it in to the computer the computer would find it but then it would disappear almost immediately.
I downloaded the Updater program from Memorex but it couldn't find the player.
The directions from Memorex said ''Hold down the play button and plug in usb cable.'' 'Another set of Memorex directions said, ''Hold down the power button and plug in usb cable.'' Neither worked for me.
SOLUTION: I finally held down the LOCK/UNLOCK button and plugged in the usb cable. My computer found the player immediately and a software driver window popped up asking for a driver. I let windows search the internet and it found and installed the driver. The driver it was looking for was: ''player recover device class driver'' After windows confirmed it recognized my mp3 player I started up the Firmware update program and was able to update the player.
I tried to be clear and detailed. Good Luck ;-)

Good morning! first, make sure your external hard drive is properly connected to the USB port, then try to start / restart your computer again, automatically the computer should recognized the attached external HDD. best regards.

I have a USB hard drive, and I have noticed that on some systems the current Draw on the USB port is too high for systems with unpowered / Low power USB ports, and therefore it doesn't work for that system,

this issue can be bypassed by using a "powered" USB hub

As I understand it the computer recognizes the floppy drive.

Can you read other discs, write to them etc? If not drive is bad

If you can read other discs then your floppy disk is bad

Sorry to be bringing you the bad news, but chances are, the Memorex is a goner. You could still of course try removing the actual/internal hard drive, connect it to an IDE/SATA to USB adapter and see if that in turn would be recognized by any of the computers. If yes, then it is the electronic/data interface of the Memorex that is defective. If likewise not also, then the actual hard drive is faulty. If the hard drive still spins and makes no mechanical noises, there is a slim chance that the contents could be recovered using file recovery software such as GetDataBack.

You don't need a driver for this MP3 player in order for it to be recognize by your computer, just need to connect it properly to a USB port on your computer and wait for about 30 seconds to a minute for your computer to fully recognize and install the necessary drivers that it needs, if its not recognize by the computer try to connect it on a different USB port on your computer....
