Theencryption key secures your data from unauthorized access. The router's password is a Passphrase or the WEP or WPA orWPA2 encryption key. The Passphrase generates the WEP or WPA or WPA2 encryptionkey and this is in the router's wireless settings. To connect to your wireless router, it needs the router'swireless settings configured ie SSID, WPA or WPA2 encryption key and also thewireless cards in all the laptops and or computers needs to be configured withthese router's wireless settings. Then the laptops and desktop computers cancommunicate with your wireless router.

Wifi not working

Why not? What is happening? Is the wireless turned on? Are you connected to the router? Do you know the password if the network is secured? Has the wifi worked before? There are too many variables that could cause the wifi to not work and you gave us no info as to what is happening.

Maybe you don't have your wireless turned on. Look onboth sides and in front for the Wireless Switch and turn it on.

Also once the wireless switch is turned on there are keystrokes that can togglethe wireless on or off. Normally you would Press and Hold the FN functionkey located at the lower left of the keyboard, then hit the correct F1 thru F12key that toggles the wireless. The correct F1 thru F12 key to hit willhave the wireless signal icon )))) on it. Or it might have the icon of a towerwith the wireless signal icon )))). Normally the screen will displayWireless On or Wireless Off when you toggle the wireless.

Acer Aspire AS5552-3691 LX.R4402.149 cant connect to internet

Make sure the built in wireless for this laptop is turned on, via a physical switch or using the Fn key in combination with the proper function key with the wireless icon.

If still no connection, check the source you're trying to connect to. Make sure your router is working properly and see if other devices can connect to it.

If your source is operational, and you still can't connect, two things might be happening.
1. You may have a virus on the laptop called a ******, which will block your internet connection
or
2. Your wireless card may be failing.

Download some virus removal software (Malwarebytes, SAS, Combofix) and try to remove the viruses. In the end, the best thing to do is take it to a trained computer technician so you don't accidentally delete something you need off the computer.

Is the wireless card "ENABLED" in your computer if it is I think you should connect a cable to the computer/router and log in to the router to see if something has changed in the setup for the wireless settings.

Scroll thru setup menu and make sure you don't have it in time lapse mode...if it is, it will automatically take a pic every whatever time time lapse is set for.If it is, set to default and reprogram.
