Cant connect at all using wireless or wired conection

To enable or setup the wireless on a modem router you usually have to connect the computer to the router with a lan cable first, go in to the routers settings, most routers use the web browser to access the settings but read the manual for the correct procedure. Then you put in your account details supplied by your internet service provider.
Enable wireless and apply security settings like a wep key, wpa, or wpa2 passkey. Restart the router, remove the lan cable and you're done.
When any wireless device tries to connect it will need the wep key, wpa, or wpa2 passkey to be entered to allow access.

When youclick Refresh network list, then Choose yourwireless network and then click Connect to your secured WirelessNetwork, it will asks for a Network Key before allowing you to connectinto your wireless network. This Network Key is either the WEP, orWPA or WPA2 Encryption key that is used to configure the Wireless Router. The Passphraseis an alternate way to setup the Encryption key.

Please test the WiFi with a laptop or netbook, if Internet works with it, maybe you have bad settings into the wireless adapter, you could use the PC wireless connection parameters (SSID, IP address, subnet mask, gateway, DNS) as reference with the data obtained with the TV wireless adapter, the only difference must be the IP address, the rest must be the same since they're using the same network.

sounds like your only connected to the router and the router is not connected to the internet
check conections and status lights on the modem and router
try to connect with a wired connection

Try reset router to factory settings and start from scratch. Uninstall drivers for wirless card and reinstall...

Hi,

This method will hard reset the wireless drivers back to default settings, but before you perform this remove power from the modem and router for 2 minutes reconnect power and wait another 2 minutes for them to settle down.

Right click "computer" select "manage" and then "device manager", a list will populate, then click on the + sign next to "network adapters" and right click on the wireless adapter and "uninstall" the device, reboot the PC and wait for windows to detect the wireless card and install the drivers for it, this will appear in the system tray (bottom right hand side) when its done try to connect again.

Do you see wireless signal of your router from your Laptop? If not! make sure the Wi-Fi of your Laptop is activated for you to get online wirelessly.

Router might not be set up with the modem. Your router broadcast wireless signal when it is powered on, so even if it is not connected to a modem(where you get your internet from)you will have a local connection. That's normal. so u r triying to login to ur netgear router>check with conn>connect the pc through the lan and login to the net gear and configured ur w/l part and dis the laptop restart and check
