The phone was using 3 mobile network in the UK,now that i am in Africa i am trying to use it on another network but the phone displays a "sim not valid" on the screen, what can i do to unlock the phone such that it works with the local network here?? will be much greatful with your reply regards

<b>CHECK SIM-LOCK</b> Note - If you bought your Nokia on UK Vodafone or UK Cellnet you do notneed to check this because they both transmit on GSM900, and they don't lockthe phones. However if you bought your phone on UK Orange or UK One2one yourphone may be blocked. The reason is that they both transmitt on GSM1800.
