Try going into games then mail...sometimes yahoo has like a down period, or, try making another name mail account..just temporary enough to get a new password from your old password, which then you could put back in your old password.
maybe a typo error on your part for password
usually it will tell you incorrect password or username.

I assume you wish to access email in a different Yahoo! Mail account. Yahoo! allows you to access only one account at a time. To sign in as a different user, you must first sign out from the account you are currently accessing.

To sign out from Yahoo! Mail, click on the "Sign out" link in the upper left corner of the web page:

Then go to the Yahoo! Mail page (, and sign in with the new user ID and password.

I cant access my account

If you haven't signed in to your Yahoo! Mail account in over three months, your free account will be deactivated. If this happens, you have two options:
  • Check your Business Email at (replacing "" with your domain name). This bypasses the Yahoo! Mail sign-in process, allowing you to check your Business Email directly.
  • Reactivate your Yahoo! Mail account. When you try and sign in to your free Yahoo! Mail account, Yahoo! Mail should give you the option of reactivating your account. Select the "Reactivate your Yahoo! Mail address" radio button to continue using your free Yahoo! Mail account.
To avoid this in the future, we recommend signing in to your Yahoo! Mail account once a month.

Can't stay signed-in to YM, always getting disconnected

You can only have one yahoo "Instant message capable" program open at one time. So if you move from Messenger to mail or chat you will get this message. If you want to have Yahoo Mail open with another Yahoo IM program you will have to set your status to "offline" in MAIL by using the dropbox next to your name ( all new mail) select "sign out of chat"
In Classic mail its located in the Inbox. Your online chat contacts will vacate the inbox until you make yourself "Available" again.
Yahoo classifies - Messenger - Mail - webmessenger - my yahoo - mobile phones - computers etc etc as different computers or devices - hence the confusion.
