SOURCE: acer aspire 5253 error message no botable device after laptop was dropped on carpet
No bootable device suggests that your Acer Aspire hard disk may have been damaged when the computer was dropped.
You should try opening the cover on the base of the laptop where the hard drive is fitted and check to make sure that the drive is seated firmly and has not come loose with the drop. See the Acer Aspire 5253 Quick Start Guide for the location of the drive cover.
If reseating the drive does not help, then you would need to find any recovery discs that you may have made or received with the laptop plus need to buy and install a replacement hard drive.
SOURCE: some keys on keyboard not working on my acer aspire 5253-B2692
Im going to assume you didn't spill anything on the keyboard here...The best solution for you is to take the keyboard out and reseat the ribbon cable that holds it in place. Sometimes those cables get just a little bit loose, but a little can cause a lot of trouble as you can see. Let's see how much trouble...open "notepad" or some other writing program you have....type every single letter and number and see which ones you are missing. Let me know if there are any others that don't work....then we'll go through the process of taking the keyboard out and reseating it.
