Go on to the compaq website: www.compaq.com
click on the support button or tab on the page, on the left side of your page you should see where it says Get support for your product ,tick where it says software and driver downloads. then below that put your product model , eg presario c50 and then press enter. select the model from the list that will be displayed and it should lead you to the drivers u want. The model number can be seen on the bottom of your laptop.

If you have any problems downloading the drivers, just sendme the model number and i will send you the direct links for the downloads.

I m using ur model HP PAVILLION DV2000

Sounds like you have a driver issue.

Start up in safe mode (press the F8 button about once per second after you power on), and select safe mode with networking.

When you get into windows, use windows update to download all updates for both software and hardware (update will till you that there are optional updates available, download these as well),

Hopefully when all that has completed you should be able to run your computer as normal. If not there may be a problem with the memory installed on the laptop.

You need to install the Windows operating system first.
Then you need to check what drivers that are missing or not working.
Then you need to download the drivers for your model laptop. You will need to get onto the Internet from a working computer to do this.
You can go to the Compaq/HP WEB site to download the latest drivers for your model laptop that suit your particular Windows operating system (ie, Windows XP, vista etc.).
