If your laptop or PC are not in the same room with the router then the 5ghz band is useless to you. Leave it at 2.4 and you're fine. If you need further explanations look it up in the Netgear N600 user manual

5 ghz is line of sight only so if the router is not in the same room you will not have much luck with the 5ghz band.

My netgear G54/N150 wifi usb micro adapter wont connect to the internet

Your computer operating system makes the network choice. If you're using windows, look in the lower right-hand corner and you should see signal-strength bars like on your cell phone. Click on those bars and you should see a list of available wireless networks. Click on the network for your uverse router and choose "Disconnect." Then click on the network for your hotspot and choose "Connect." Then your computer should connect to your hotspot.

Why is my wireless connection being so slow?

Check you have your cable modem plugged in to the WAN port, not the LAN port on the router.
The manual s here
http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/WNDR3400V3/WNDR3400v3_UM_8FEB2013.pdf
If it is still a problem consult your ISP about the set up.

My internet keeps goin on and off with my new netgear N600 wireless dual band router. is my home too large for this unit? any help or suggestions? [email protected]

Never buy Netgear. They design product so it won't work unless you pay more for technical support. They told me the technicians during the 90 day warranty are not good enough to fix problems, so you can't get solution until warranty runs out and you have to pay extra!

Netgear dualband wndr3300 - Why can I only connect to one band

Dual band means it is working on both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz frequency. If your computer can connect on both frequency that only means that the wireless adapter in your computer is also dual band.
