Facebook has blocked my account because they claim I've added too many friends. They have blocked me from adding any more friends for 14 days. This is the second time this has happened. I am not careless in adding friends but is there anything I can do to get reinstated?

this normally happens if you spam your facebook or someone elses.. and if you are sitting there adding friends all day even for like 2 mins its considered spam....

This may be because you've sent friend requests to strangers, or it may be due to other behavior that Facebook members have reported as unwelcome."

Check the terms of service and make sure you're not breaking them. If not, it could be that your account was hacked. Change your password and security questions, then wait out the time.

Facebook tends to mark friend requests as spam if you send out too many per day. Only send out approx. 5 a day to be safe.

Yes, facebook is preventing adding friends whom you do not know. Once you forcely do that you will be block adding friends for a couple of days as per their rules.

I suggest you send message to your friend to invite you to become you friend or neighbor in any games. In rare occassion, this might be allowed as he is not banned for adding friends. Regards

your Fb account has temporarly blocked coz facebook have thought have being engaged in suspecious activities like adding many friends so fast and many unknowns.
they consider it as spaming.
so wait it may be repaireed withing day or weeks
always remember further and permenent blocks can be imposed on your account if continue to do the same

It's up to Facebook when to allow you to create another account. I'd suggest using a pseudonym that your friends would know you by. Also use a different e-mail address if possible.

Facebook has strict settings regarding the "mass add" emails people send out. If you add large numbers of friends (over 50 in a day) you will get this warning, and won't be able to add any more friends until tomorrow. If you haven't added that many friends today, this block should go away in a few hours, but you will have to enter a code word each time you add a friend. If you consistently get this block too many times, Facebook will actually suspend your account for a month or more. My suggestion is just to limit your friend requests to less than 50 each day (I would even try for less than 20 since you have been flagged already) and wait until tomorrow to add more friends. You can still accept as many as you want with no penalty.
