yes, when you insert a sim card from another carrier your phone will prompt you for an unlock code. This code can be acquired by calling your current service provider and asking them to provide you with the subsidy unlock code for your phone. give them the imei # off the sticker under your battery or you can get it by pressing *#06#.
just tell them it is your phone and you need the unlock code.
