I have a medion laptop, a couple of years of age.
I got it transformated, and suddenly the Wi-FI won't work. The antenna symbol is right next to the start button, but when I press it, it doesn't react. Also I've tried hitting the Fn button with the antenna button, and Fn + F2, but that makes my computer go into hibernate.
A collegue advised me to get the program from medion, since it must have been erased.
Can you figure out the problem?

Sounds like you may need to reinstall the drivers for your wireless nic if you reformatted they may have been deleted. You can go to driverguide.com and download any driver for any system there. You need to join and a small fee is required but it gives you access to anything you may need.

You neglected to provide the age of the tablet. If it's a couple years or older your battery might be on the way out. They don't last forever and some of them aren't of the best quality to begin with. Charge it all night long. In the morning when you turn it on if it still doesn't work right be sure to check the battery level with the A/C adapter unplugged. The level indicators are based on the voltage. If the voltage doesn't come up to spec, it might show less than 100% charge even when charged overnight.
The wi-fi problem could be battery related, too, as wi-fi is a radio transceiver that sends as well as receives signals. Wi-fi doesn't work so well if the transmitter produces a weak or intermittent signal.
On many laptops, there is an external switch to turn the wi-fi on/off. This is normally found on the front or sides of the laptop case. It can be easy to turn off the wi-fi accidentally if you grab your laptop a certain way that causes you to press the switch.
On some laptops, you will find the wi-fi on/off switch by raising the laptop screen to expose the keyboard. The switch may often be found by looking at the area above the keyboard. In almost every case, the wi-fi on/off switch will be lit if the wi-fi is on, and unlit if the wi-fi is turned off.
Press the Home button, then press the Menu button.
Navigate to "Settings" by moving the 5-way controller down, then press the 5-way controller to select.
Select "view" next to "Wi-Fi Settings" to display a list of detected Wi-Fi networks.
Use the 5-way controller to navigate down to "Enter other Wi-Fi network" and press to select.
Enter the name of the Wi-Fi network that you want to add.
Enter the password (if required). Press the Symbol key to enter numbers or characters not present on the Kindle keyboard. You can continue to use the keyboard while the Symbol menu is displayed.
Choose "submit." Kindle connects to the new Wi-Fi network.
If this doesn't work feel free to reply and I will try find another method. However, if it does please rate me. Thank you.
Hi Fred! I have checked the specification of your laptop here and found that your laptop is Wi-Fi capable and wi-fi drivers are available and can be downloaded and installed here. (if required) Most Gateway notebooks have a designated multi-function button or function key to turn your wireless on and off. There should be a tiny slide switch or button with a small antenna
symbol. There should also be a light with the same symbol to show when
it is on and from the keyboard Press Fn+F2 to enable wireless.
Let me know if any further clarification/ assistance is required.
Good Luck! Dont forget to appreciate the solution if I could have been of any help! CreativeTECH
The Wireless Antenna On-Off switch is on the Right side. The Wireless Antenna LED is to the left of the On-Off switch. It glows when the wireless antenna is in use.
It has to have an > optional Turn the laptop over, Front facing you. The Battery Compartment is on the Front Right corner. The Wi-Fi Compartment Cover is on the Back Left corner.
Remove the single screw in the right middle of the cover. (Philips head) See if a Wi-Fi PCI Mini Card is installed.
No? You'll have to obtain a Wi-Fi PCI Mini Card for your Toshiba.
From a quick search just now, (Not advertising for this website),
(Remember to remove ALL power to the laptop Before installing. AC adapter {Charger} and Battery. Also remember to observe Anti-Static Precautions before handling the Wi-Fi card, and when installing)
Here is the Toshiba Satellite 2410-S203 Notebook PC User Manual, also,
1. First look for the Wi-Fi (Wireless) Switch on the Laptop (it may be on the front or sides of your laptop) [It's symbol will be like a 'Tower' or 'Antenna').
2. Turn it to ON position (a red or blue light will blink).
3. Now, switch ON your Wi-Fi router modem provided by your network operator (also check the connecting wires between router and phone jack).
4. System will automatically detect the network.
5. If not seach your Wi-F- network through : Start -> Connet To ->Search/Refresh (a list of services will come).
First to clarify; is this a WIRELESS ROUTER?
If it is OK, there are also LAN/ethernet outputs on it as well.
DESKTOP COMPUTERS do not typically contain Wi-Fi apadters or 'antenna', these are in most all laptops made these days.
If you have a wireless Wi-Fi Router then it should be fairly straitforward to connect laptops (Start Menu>Connect To, in Windows)
You may have to either HARD WIRE (ethernet line) or buy an internal Wi-Fi or USB Wi-Fi Adapter/antenna. If it's a fairly recent wireless router this becomes fairly straight forward after that.
