Click Start. Go to Control Panel. Go to System. Click Device Manager. Open the Menu for Network Adapters.
If there is no wireless adapter there, you do not have one (likely).

What is a USB receiver?

If your computer is a laptop, most of (all) laptops comes with a built-in wireless adapter. And if it is working, you don't need one.

If you have a desktop (a tower casing, monitor, keyboard and mouse) setup, mostly they don't have built in wireless receiver. But if your desktop is custom built like mine, I have installed a wireless card in my desktop. But not really recommended. Since it sits in the desktop tower casing and if you need to get more signal and have to move around, you get furious because it is not mobile.
USB receiver or adapter can be extended via a USB extension cable (3 meter, 7 meter, 10 meter) and put it where the signal strength is high or remove it and use it on any other computer (laptop or desktop) with a USB port.
So, if your computer is not equipped with a wireless adapter/card built in and need to have wireless access, you need to buy a usb wireless adapter. These days they are as cheap as 8$ to 50$.

Hope this helps.

There is no bluetooth instaled on my pc! where can i download it?

Bluetooth is not software, but hardware. Cell phones come with bluetooth built in, so all you have to buy is the bluetooth headset. But computers never come with bluetooth as far as I know. You can buy a sound system for your computer that works over bluetooth frequencies, but that is not built into the computer. If you wanted to use a hands free headset on a computer, you have to buy the bluetooth receiver as well, and plug it into the USB port.

Can the sr1123 wm desktop go wireless...what hardware do i need

@jlingenfelte

Since this desktop PC doesn't have a built-in wireless card installed, you have two options to get this computer connected wirelessly.

Option 1:
Install a PCI Wireless Adapter (example here)

Option 2:
Install a USB Wireless Adapter (example here)

Either options will work fine. Good luck.

So I just got a Dell Optiplex sx280 that runs windows xp and can't connect it to the wireless internet at my house. The built-in driver is a Broadcom NetXtreme 57xx Gigabit Controller, and I don't...

Desktop computers do not usually have a wireless card installed. They will have a built-in LAN card that uses a LAN cable.
If you want to connect your computer using a wireless connection then you will need to install a wireless card in your computer and configure it to communicate with your wireless router.
Otherwise you can connect to your wireless router using a LAN cable.
Your wireless router may have built-in LAN ports and you can connect your computer to the wireless router using a network cable.

How can i setup a wireless connection on my laptop

Hi,

Depending on the model etc of your laptop, some have built in wireless adapters others don't so you need to buy a wireless adapter card so that you are able to connect to the internet.

Also you will need a network which has wireless built in if at home for you to connect to the internet, through the wireless adapter on your laptop.

Hope this helps, let me know if you need more information.

Thanks

How do i find out if my computer has built in wifi

First thing would be to see if you have any antenna sticking out of the back of your desktop.

If not, then right-click on "My Computer", choose "Manage" and go down to "Device Manager".
Scroll down to the "Network Adapters" section. Click on the "+" sign and see if you have any device installed that has the word "wireless" in it.
If so, voila!
If not, you will have to add a wireless network card, something like this. I assume that this is the case, because desktops usually do not have wireless pre-installed.

ZyXEL Wireless set up.

First many current PC models have switches to power on the wireless feature. Do you have one of those and did you power on the wireless.

Second wireless devices communicate on four different bands A, B, G, N. Some devices support multiple bands. Does your wireless router/access point (maybe a Zytel p660HW-D1 from above) support at least one of same bands as your laptop built-in or purchased wireless adapter? If you do not know post the manufacturer of the wireless router/access point, laptop if the wireless is built-in or wireless adapter if it is a separate device and I will check that for you.
