Acer Aspire 5534 cuts off when unplugged and it won't charge up. The light also keeps blinking orange and it was charging earlier. Does it need a new battery?

Remove the battery and plug in the Cord/charger, will it boot? If no, try another Cord/Charger with the EXACT same power specs. Replace battery if necessary.
Common problem is HDD won't come up to speed and needs replacement. Can try unplugging and removing battery, then re-install and try to start. If that fails, need to install new HDD. Hope you have backed-up everything.
when orange light is on it means it is charging and to know whether your system is charging just look at battery symbol where you will find a wire symbol on battery which show it is charging and when charge is complete orange light turns blue
maybe. isolate it first. try using new battery. if the blinking lights stops, then it needs new battery. if the blinking do not stop check the power adapter maybe that is the defective. it did not give enough power to charge the battery.
Hi,
Try to connect your PC with the battery on the power outlet if it lights and charge normally. If the lights still orange, try to open the hard disk case and pull it out then try to put it in place again. If still doesn't go, try the memory card and clean it.
But I suspect that the battery has been overly charged. Try to look for another battery of the same model if it works with another and new battery.
Thanks
