I have just changed the cover on my N95. Everything went to plan and the phone started up ok for an hour or so but the slider was catching slightly on the edge of the keypad where it wasn't clicked in properly. I took the cover off again and fitted the keypad properly and put the front and back covers back on again. The phone won't start up now. It sounds as though it boots up but the screen doesn't light up properly and just shows a very dim blue glow. Is ther any way to trouble shoot and fix it?
Kind regards, Peter.

First remove the battery cover, battery and memory card. Move the slider down and remove the two screws you see.
Now move the slider up and remove the two screws at the top of the phone.
Run your fingernail along the edge of the join of the front cover to unclip it.
You should now have the front cover removed. The keypad should be loose as well.
Flip the keypad part back to access the ribbon which connects the LCD to the phone.
To remove the ribbon, flip back the metal hinge and then simply pull the screen back and the ribbon will be released.
Pull the LCD in the direction like you are sliding the screen up.
You can now replace the screen.
Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly.
i think the cover might have covered away the speaker try your old cover and remeber use only original nokia cover's only and duplicates covers always cause such problems
LCD Back light not working:------
To fix this you need to change a coil in the Board of the phone. The Image of the cable location is below:-----
Sir, I am honest and advising you to consult another expert for the back light problem in the Top Slider Keypad. Sir, please rate my solution for the first problem.
Thank you Sir, I wish the second problem will be solved. Have a nice day.
This may be only a temporary fix! I took off the front cover by removing the four screws that are visible when the phone slider is moved up and down. There are two small metal tabs on the speaker which I carefully bent out (about 45 degrees) and I also slightly roughened the two contacts on the pcb where the tabs touch. So far the speaker is working. Fingers crossed.
Its manufacturing defect. If your phone is covered under warranty then you can get a new phone because it is covered under warranty. But if your phone is old and not covered by warranty then you have to change its LCD screen.
