Hello browderel:

First try rebooting your PC and then plug in your Webcam and see if it gets recognized.
Windows is flaky that way sometimes.
Don't forget to give the thumbs up if this helped at all.

I have toshiba satellite a 300-02w laptop.my web cam suddenly stop working. and i tried with update driver still problem is same. i found one thing that my webcam not listed in device mangaer so how can i...

Hello,

First, lets try to see if the webcam itself is bad. The easiest way to do this is connect it to another pc, any pc. If it does not work on a different pc then we know the webcam is fault and needs to be replaced.

If it does work, then we know we may have a setting issue. It may be listed in device manager as an unknown device. Have you looked through all the devices including unknown devices to see if it is listed?

You can try a different USB slot on our computer as the one you are using is experiencing problems.

When you connect the webcam to the computer, do you get a message such as "hardware found"?

If this is a built in camera then you can obviously ignore these steps.

What would i do to connect my 106 ravage wed cam to the pc?

As with any hardware device, there needs to be a software driver to make the webcam work with your computer. That should have been included with the webcam (let me know if it was not, most manufacturers have device drivers available on their websites). Install the driver by putting the disk in the computer, opening the CD drive in My computer or computer (depending on your operating system. Following the prompts on the driver install. Shut down your computer, plug in your webcam in an open usb port and start up your computer. The computer will see the new hardware and look for a driver for it.

This should work to get your webcam installed. If you found this solution helpful, please remember to leave positive feedback. If you need more assistance, please let me know.

Thank You,

Brian

My built in Gateway webcam is showing camera not found

Maybe try to restore the computer back to a time when the webcam did work and was found.

Was the computer upgraded to Windows 7 and it didn't recognize the camera after that upgrade or an update?

If all attempts to find the camera are exhausted, then maybe a new webcam that clips on will work with the operating system in question.

I'm using an MSI U130 laptop, Windows XP. My Arcsoft Webcam Companion 3 is not working. When I purchased the laptop, it worked the first day I tried it. But now it always says that a webcam is not found or...

Because the webcam is built into the lid on the inside, it probably connects with the same cable as the display. If your screen goes blank and won't come back on, it might be worth it to take the laptop apart and reseat the cable. Otherwise, you may want to buy an external webcam and plug it into the USB port.
