How to reinstall lost drivers of my HP Pavilion dv4-2160us notebook so I could access the Internet with WIFI capability is my my problem now. I was able to reinstall Windows 7 OS but I still have no WiFI capability. Please help me!

If the button or on/off switch that is provided for the WiFi (may have a line with three curved lines coming off of it as a symbol for the button) is toggled or enabled and the wifi won't turn on, then there is a good chance that the driver for the wifi isn't loaded.

You can tell if the driver is missing by opening the Control Panel, opening System, opening Device Manager and looking for a Network Adapter category. Expand the Network Adapter category by clicking the plus sign and look for a WiFi adapter in there. If it has a yellow exclamation point ! on it then there is a problem with the network card and it needs to be reinstalled. If there isn't a WiFi or Wireless Network adapter in there, chances are it is found under a category called "Other Devices" and it still needs to be reinstalled.

To install it, you will probably have to delete the device out of the device manager (highlight it and press the delete key on the keyboard) and then plug your laptop into wired network connection (usually your router or internet service modem will have a network port that you can plug into directly with an ethernet cable). You'll go to the manufacturer's website, click on support and search for drivers for your laptop. Be sure to go to the network section and download and install the network driver for your system.

Look on the bottom side of the laptop. There should be small access panels that open by removing one screw. That is where the wifi card is. If there is no card installed then it won't show in the device manager. The HP zd7000 is wireless capable and HERE is a link to cards for it.

Need to find a 'hot spot' that has free 'Wifi' internet like at a library or coffee shop or restaurant. Then, need to enable the 'Wifi' on the notebook either by a Fn Button or a switch which has an icon for Wifi enabling.

Then, need to search for open networks to connect to.

Then, open up Internet Explorer or your browser to get on the Internet.

try reinstalling the wifi driver on your hp . first identify the hardware by right click on my computer ---> manage ---> device manager ----> and then search for your 802.11g hardware and then up date it .

best thing to do is check in device manager.right click on computer,,click properts.click device manager loo in device manager see if there is a yellow question mark next to your internet if so you need the driver. :]

If your using Vista or XP, what i want you to do is right click "computer" select "manage" and then "device manager", then click on the + sign next to "network adapters" and right click on the wireless network and "un-install" the device, reboot the PC and wait for windows to detect the wireless card and install the drivers for it, this will appear in the system tray (bottom right hand side) when its done try to connect again

RESTORE YOUR COMPUTER! This just happened to me and i looked up and tried EVERYTHING! Since my wifi button had only stopped working 2 days ago, I restored my computer to 4 days prior because I was told that sometimes without you even knowing you allow stuff to get on your computer whenever you get online which could cause your computer to turn functions off automatically. My wifi button actually stopped working after I went into a mcdonalds with my computer an used their wifi so I think me allowing their wifi onto my computer did something to it because when I took it home the button was just red altogether and it was SOOO frustrating. But as soom as I restored it, my computer came back on and a little window popped up saying "Your wifi is currently off, toggle your wifi key to turn it on/off". I was so happy! The simpliest thing that no one would ever think of.
