Install a the appropriate cd burner driver software in your laptop so that it will function properly. A CD disc installer normally goes with the unit you purchase. You may ask assistance from the store where you buy your CD burner. Or you can download it from the internet. Just send in your comments through the e-mail.

When you wrote "CD-RW is recognized, but not opening" are you referring to the tray not sliding? If you are, then it is possible that it is a hardware problem with your CDRW, specifically the tray loading mechanism. Pls refer to http://www.fixya.com/support/t144167-cw088d_cd_rw_drive.
