Have you checked in volume control that your mike is listed and is not muted. sorry, that is volume control/mixer.
You should also enter the sounds/ audio control section of your machine and ensure that microphone is there and is listed and ticked as an input device.
update your audio drivers and make sure your computer is seeing your sound card. Speakers are always plug and play so I would check out your sound card and also make sure your sound is not muted :)
I believe it has both, strictly speaking it won't be a dedicated sound card as such but the capability will be integrated onto the motherboard. According to Acer Support the 5532 has High-definition audio support, Two built-in stereo speakers and is MS-Sound compatible. The peripheral subsystem has a Headphone/speaker/line-out jack and a Microphone-in jack should you want to add an external microphone for better quality recording.
The labtec webcam 1200 does not have a built in microphone.

Most desktops do not have a built in microphone, with exceptions of the ones that come built into the monitor. You find that most sound cards have an input jack to connect a microphone. To be sure if your computer does or does not, the make and model of your computer would be needed to check the computer specifications.

Your B110 desktop PC does not have a built-in microphone. You can pick up a microphone for your PC at any PC or computer retail store. You need to make sure that your PC has a sound card with a microphone input. If you look on the back of your PC, the sound card will normally have 3 or 4 small colored circles next to each other. One is for the speaker output, and another for the microphone input. If you don't have these audio jacks on your PC, you'll need to get a sound card first, which you can also get from a computer hardware store. Good luck!
That sounds alot like the microphone booster in control panel. Depending on what version of windows your are using, you can just open the sound control from the taskbar and go to the advanced settings and uncheck the setting "microphone booster". Adjust microhpone volume accordingly.
