I have a sony nw a3000 walkman, old but still plays the music library just fine. I have lost my library form the computer but the connect spftware will not work on my vista laptop and I need to be able to transfer the music back to my laptop! Any ideas?

O dear, not a great geek. So would it work if I installed it on someone's older laptop with XP or earlier? Then I could perhaps save the files in the media player library and get them on a netstick or external drive?

Otherwise will have to try the geek verison!

Have you tried to run the program in Compatibility mode? If even then it fails then you have just one option left: to create complete XP install inside your Vista and install the connection program in it.

How to create my own library?

You will need to download and install sonicstage as this is the only program that can convert your MP3's to the sony walkman format. Once this has been installed, click file, import, scan folder, settings then choose the folder where you music is stored (i.e. my documents, my music) click ok and you music should be imported into you sonicstage library. Once your files are in sonicstage you can use the red arrow buttons to transfer the music you want onto your connected sony walkman

Re: Unable to play music; license is expired

Re-Rip them, but change the Rip format to Mp3 in Windows Media Player - you will not have any licensing issues with mp3 format

A3000 is still locked on the connection screen.

Pressing the reset button will not scrub your a3000 memory.
I have just tried it on mine to make sure I dont give you wrong info.
It just switches it off.

Sony NW A3000 Walkman

Follow these steps- - Open the Sony Walkman from "My Computer". - Open the folder inside, then delete all the "DAT" files. - Open the second foler which is inside the first foler and delete all these files. - Close that and then open up "SonicStage" - Now delete all the files from your library, but, DO NOT delete them from your computer. - Now import all the songs again and it should pick up the device and start to transfer with no problems. I have done this with my Sony Walkman and it now works. If you experiance more problems contact me at [email protected]
