Hey i got a 3700 series generator that when i started it the engine runs good but the power produce side of the generator started surging now the engine will run but i am getting no electric from it have checked the breaker i am not very familar with working on generators any help would be appreciated !!! thanks

This small amount is used to create an electromagnet. As the engine begins to turn this electromagnet, moving its electric field, through the stator windings, your generator will produce more power. However, if residual magnetism is lost, your generator will produce no power at startup.

find the decal on the fridge( side , back inside ) that has the specifications on it
it will show wattage usage for the motor , volts required and phase/cycle requirement
now for example --if the wattage is 750 watts , then the start up wattage will be almost double for a few seconds until the motor builds up speed
so the generator size will be 2000watts continuous
that is an example
however understand this , if you get a genset that just covers the watts required , it will use a lot more fuel under full load than a gen set that has a capacity of say 4 times the requirement
next point-- gensets that just do the job will struggle on compressor start up and that can cause problems on modern fridges power boards where as a larger genset will hardly notice the load of a starting compressor
Lastly always use a surge protection board before the fridge lead as gen sets can "hunt " and produce power surges which can damage a board of the fridge
In reality if you have an outage,-- mostly at night,-- I would consider a gen set of 6500 watts capacity as that will handle fridge , freezer and house lights
I run a scorpion 6.5 kw get set connected to the house by a three way switch and a caravan plug in the meter board and that runs 2 fridges , freezer , lights and one small plate on the electric stove and 20 liter fuel tank lasts up to 6 hours running
and no it is not an inverter type so the cost of the unit is around $1200.00 aud compared to an inverter type which is more than double that price

You have to be sure the generator produces not only enough power to run the AC but also to handle the load when the AC initially starts or the compressor kicks on. That means it either must have a continual wattage rating to handle the load or a surge rating that's powerful and long enough to handle the start up.

Could be lost exciter current. This is how to restore it - Connect 16 or 18 gauge wires to a 12 volt battery. With generator running, insert bare ends of wires into AC outlet - one to Hot, the other to Neutral. Insert and remove quickly. There should be a flash and power will be restored. If not, repeat until you get that flash and output current restored. Using light gauge wires is so that if you are too slow to remove them once AC is restored. they will burn out before the battery suffers from the AC incoming. Be quick and be careful.

Take a spray of carb cleaner and clean the linkage mechanism from the governor to the carburetor and make sure they move with out sticking.

Sir take out the stator assembly from the engine and clean it properly from inside with cotten cloth moist with gasoline and then clean the roter while fixing it back mind the gap between the rotor and stator sometimes there is dirt or other material sucked inside the alternator which diaturbs the megnetic poles as a result the stator does not produce enough charge for exsitation

Check breaker on generator and if not that could be the copper windings that produce power
