I'm looking for the manual for the Durabrand PH-5562 which was purchased at Walmart

You hold the delete button down and push the up button. Then you can let the delete button go. Youll get a menu to set the contrast, then the language, then the time and date. Use the up and down arrows to adjust and the delete button to cofirm. =-)

I doubt you will be able to get just a handset, however all may not be lost, try opening up the handset, i think you may find what has broken away is the speaker, and most likely it has broken the wires off, or maybe it's the battery, if it is one of these it's a pretty simply job, to relocate and resolder the wires back on, and you may just get your unit working again.
Also if you don't wish to DIY, why not take it back to Walmart and ask where to get it repaired and then get a "Quote" for the repair first.
maybe if ya were real nice, they may even exchange it for another.. just act dumb, and say I dunno how it happened it just don't work...lol can I get a replacement.. I mean it's Wallmart, they are there to serve? aren't they.
