Dryer will not start. When I press the start button I hear a click and the sensing light goes on but nothing else. What should I be looking for to fix this?

Does light inside the drum come on when you open the door? It may think the door is not closed . Make sure light comes on when door is open and goes out when closed. Could be failed door switch.

Try putting a light in the plug with the dryer and try again, if it dimes or goes out you have an electrical problem.

First, check the door switch. Push and release it by hand and you should hear a click. If no sound, replace the door switch with this part.
If the switch is ok, press the cancel button on the machine. Then do this. press and hold the start button for 2 seconds then release wait 2 seconds and press and hold again for 2 seconds continue this pattern until the dryer goes into test mode. You will see all the lights on the control light up. press each button on the control one at a time 3 times each. (Do not press the cancel button) until the dryer begins to run. When the dryer starts to run then press the cancel button. Then your machine should function properly.

unplug dryer, remove back panel, look for a white part with 2 connectors on the blower housing and remove one, using a continuity or ohm meter put across the leads and if you hear no sound or see no reading in meter replace that part. is the thermal fuse. this is the most common problem for that failure.

That light should be telling you that your filter screen is full of lint, if that is not the case check the hose going all the way out for blockages.

Could be that the belt has broken and triped the belt safty switch. If you reach into the dryer and rotate the drum in a clock wise rotation and it moves extreamly freely. It is probably the belt.

Ours was doing the same thing you would hear a click and nothing but the sensing light. I found the thermal fuse to be blown Part #3392519. Easy to get to through the front cover under the load door. I went ahead and vacuumed and cleaned out the inside and vent tube.
