Remove a small coin sized CMOS battery to store all BIOS settings along with the password. To reset the password, unplug the PC, open the cabinet and remove the CMOS battery for approx. 15-30 minutes and then put it back. It'll reset all BIOS settings as well as the password and you'll need to re-enter all settings.

Under the keyboard or bottom of laptop - If you are working on a laptop computerthe location of the dipswitch (almost never a jumper) can be under the keyboard or on the bottom of the laptop in a compartment such as the memory compartment.

If it fails, then try to remove the battery for at least one hour.

click start control panel Open User Accounts in Control Panel. On the Users tab, click the name of the user whose password you want to change, and then click Reset Password. In New password and Confirm new password, type the new password, and then click OK. Notes You can change passwords only for local computer accounts, such as guest, administrator, or accounts you create for your computer. You cannot change your network logon password in User Accounts. To change your own password, press CTRL ALT DELETE and then click Change Password

Yes, but before you replace the hard disk, check hard drive cables and connections first. Also try to check if you can access Safe Mode.

Good luck.

Hi, I'm having trouble with my Kanguru Solutions Duplicator. It says "Hard Drive Corrupted - error #233 (89)" I can still burn cds, but am wondering if there really is a problem. Thanks!

teacher357,

Given the error code you provided it looks like you have corrupt hard drive. You can try reformatting the hard drive or just replacing it.

There is a good chance that your data is corrupted on that drive in which case you will probably want to recover it. TestDisk is a powerful and free open source software tool kit that can help you recover lost, deleted, corrupt data off your bad hard drive. You can also try to slave your corrupt hard drive to another computer and try to access it that way.

I would try to recover the data and replace the bad hard drive with a new one. I would try www.newegg.com or www.tirgerdirect.com for some good deals on hard drives.

I really hope this helps and good luck!

Respectfully,

Whenever I start my HP laptop, a black screen loads and it says " Boot device not found, please install an operating system on your hard disk". I have no clue how to fix this.

Sounds like the hard drive has been formatted and you need to install windows on it. Was it working before or did you just buy it second hand?

"missing operating system"

Keep trying in the hopes that it will trigger, and come back- try the F buttons to get to options to try like System Restore, and see if that works (it probably won't, however).
You will have to reload the Restore CD and try to get it working again. Another possibility is that you have a bad hard drive, and will have to buy one and reload the system.
If you can't reload your system, take it into a computer repair shop and have them evaluate the problem. It could possibly be a bad motherboard, but it can be a memory or hard drive problem, and that should be checked before having the motherboard replaced.
Good luck, and hope this helps.

My HP computer keeps restarting to password screen. If I enter password it logs on but then restarts minutes later. If I don't enter password it simply restarts anyways.

One bad lead will cause your computer to continue in a cycle
replace all the leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions + IDE,SATA and the ones that attach from your motherboard to hard drive
hope this helps

How often do brake rotors need to be replaced? and what is a decent price for rotors, pads? subaru legacy wagon, 2008

They will need replacing when they are at the minimum thickness, which is stamped on the rotor in most cases. If they are rusted, they will need replacement anyhow. you may just call a few repair shops and ask for a quote on pads and rotors. Asking a quote for brakes is hard, because they dont have the car to inspect it, and its hard because nobody quotes the same parts, apples to apples. the cheapest is not the best deal, you get what you pay for. Get good quality brakes, your life depends on it. if it was me I would use dealer parts.

Check Ebay for Turbo. Does sound like turbo has gone bad. It has what is called a fluid bearing which is oil that is pumped in and around the impeller shaft. when the seals burn out it will smoke terrible and reduce power. Hope this helps and have a good day.

HP Compaq nc6320 pc notebook issue

Paddy it seems windows login problem, may be you are not using correct user name or/and password or may be your password profile got currupted.

Anyway in your case as you have purchased it second hand, then you don't had have any specific program or file on the hard disk. So you can easily format your lap and installed new XP or Vista as per your requirement. It will solve your problem. But you should must have the device drivers to work and installed properly.

Yes if you will use new hard drive then you can install, but same things will be required as per above. So I will recommend you to install on same HDD don't buy new one.

If any problem, Just Ask me

Thanks
