I have no idea where to start to set my TOMTOM XXL 530.S up, please help me I think I'm just missing the instructions

I just plug the computer cord to the TomTom, and it downloads from their website.

tomtom app is either corrupted or improperly installed, delete off and reload from my tomtom................www.tomtom.com

there are a couple of settings in preferences. One is "Fastest Route" which is highways the other is "shortest Route" which can be back streets. Change the default to either "Fastest" or, preferably, there is an option to get it to ask you each time

For the TOMTOM XXL540 while connected to your PC hold the poer button down for about 15 or 20 seconds the device will shutdown then restart when reset

While in drive view, tap the screen on the blue status bar, on the GPS signal strength. A new screen appears showing the battery charge level at the top right corner.

Resetting factory settings does just that it resets the operating system it does not reset or fix map problems

preferences. Obviously you can't do that now.

To do a soft reset on a ONE 530, just hold down the power button for about 15 seconds. You'll see the tomtom reboot and it will play the little drums sound.

Be careful when you follow the instructions. Where it says not to delete the folders, it also should say not to open the folders and delete anything.

This can be found at the bottom of the unit next to barcode it will say S/N next to it. Looks something like this: A12345B12345
