Thanks for your help Benimur. I took your advice and dowloaded and updated everything! :) There weren't any real errors to speak of but it's still not working. I took the unit to a mates today to satisfy my curiosity, tried to run it on his PC (serial to serial) and it still didn't recognise it!!
Now I'm in trouble I guess. Seems like it's a hardware issue. Now I need to find someone who'll look at the sensor for me!

Re: re: golf simulator
Appreciate the update. Since as you posted you tried it to serial to serial then I would have to agree with you that the problem is with the hardware.
Perhaps this may be of help to you and whoever will look over the sensor. To my knowledge USB connection would at most require 4 wires (+5, GND, Data+ & Data-) while most serials would have 9 pins/connection/wires. This link can provide their pinouts.
Offhand, most likely suspect would be the cable or the connector specially the junction of the two.
Incidentally, this link may provide some technical background on the operations of the sensor pad though it would need a technical person to correlate information into actuality. I believe one has to be a member to be able to download the complete file (hopefully together with the illustrations).
Good luck with your project and sorry was not that much assistance.

This is a error for mac os and it kicks in after updating to 10 .4.11 or so ..and it has something to do with the proxy settings ..in the player ..and from my knowledge it is not clear what it is wrong ..The good news is there is nothing wrong with the system but just does not supports the real player ..probably future updates will fix this ..
Thanks for the idea, we took everything out and started the computer after adding each piece back we found that one of the new ram cards caused a lot of problems. I have taken it out and am going to call tiger direct to see about a replacement. We also have a couple of error messages now and I was wondering if anyone knows what theyt are, One is pcst.Tray.EXE is missing and the Second is BigFix has caused a runtime error, both are saying that they need to be reinstalled. Do you have any advice on these.
This is an error commonly witnessed when you try to uninstall a program using the "Add or Remove Programs" in Microsoft Windows XP. The message itself will read: "Error 1721. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personal or package vendor."
I Googled your error and this is what I got. As far as your update question, I think you can just go to HP website, and redownload and reinstall all the updates that you are in need of. If you are speaking of Windows Updates, you can redownload those to. Just go to Microsoft website and in their search box, type in reinstall updates; of course, you will also have to type in there which updates you need to reinstall. Hope this helps.
Appreciate the update. 1. other than the glitches you posted, was there any significant change on how the programs responded, specifically are they still prone to "not responding". If still, then problem is elsewhere, if no more "not responding" then we simply have to weave out the culprit among the many in msconfig's Startup; 2. Could you please post back a list of the programs that are running in msconfig's Startup?
where is asking for start normally look for another option called last known good configuration select it and see.
