Please help! I can't access my USB flash disk. Whenever I click the icon of my flash disk on My Computer, it says: "F:\ is not accessible. The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error." I also encounter that same error with other USB flash disks I insert on my USB ports. What seems to be the problem?

You have to check your operating system if its infected with the trojan worms or virus by scanning your computer with the updated antivirus. Im afraid but you can not used your usb flash drive because its already a defective. I had experienced dealing with that problems but i tried everything i could but i can not fixed it because its already damaged. Have a nice day!

Three solutions:
1- go to the bios (press "delete key" at start of turning on of computer) and enable "USB Mouse" a "USB Keyboard" (sorry i can't remember where really it is).
if it doesn't work :
2- reinstall your OS.
or
3- update BIOS of your. (download a bios update and install it by a boot disk)

I have a Dane-Elec 4 GB Flash drive. I used it successfully one time, but the next time I put it in my computer (or any computer after that) the computer recognized the new device but told me "Please...

1) Instead of double-clicking, right-click and choose "explore." I hope it's that simple. Once you're in, look for a file called autorun.inf. Delete it.

2) If it won't let you explore, see if there is a "format" option instead. This will possibly solve your issue of access, and will solve your issue with your confidential data (of course, your data will be gone, but I'm guessing you're OK with that).

3) Try using another USB slot, sometimes there could be an issue with specific slots, especially if you are using hte front USB ports on a desktop
4) I know this may seem silly but turn off the computer, and then unplug the computer from the wall. Leave it unplugged for 30 seconds, plug it in and then boot up the systems. Plug in the USB drive.

5) Finally if the unit still is not being seen, it may need a low level format, contact the manufacturer and see about getting a replacement. I found their e-mail at [email protected]

Hi, my pen drive is not accessible l8ty, wen inserted in ne pc u can c the Removable Disk but wen double clicked on it it says " please insert a disk in Removable Disk ". please help

Try these first

First off try it in a different computer and if that can read it then you know for sure that the problem is with yours.

If it does not read on another computer chances are the drive is dead and whilst uncommon it does happen.

Also if "shell hardware detection" is turned OFF in W7 then it wont tell you when it is plugged in but you can still read from USB devices. You just have to browse the "removable" devices from windows explorer Try them all if more than one is listed
