I got 2005 Chevy Impala, 150k driven and tonite when I advanced from a red light a message instantly showed up. I pulled down my car but without caring much start the highway again hoping the car would take me home atleast in the night. After I checked in the book it says: 1> Low Brake oil on the message centre 2> Brake system warning light on left of screen and 3> Trac off I am afraid that I am in a new city and unless I know the exact problem (and rough idea of expenses) any mechanic may rip off my pocket :(

You just need to add brake fluid to the brake master cylinder reservoir. Any "fast lube" place can do this for you in just a few minutes. You will have to refer to your owners manual to get instructions on how to reset the warning light.

My 2005 Chevy Impala all of the sudden just shut down at the light and won't crank or do anything when I turn the key nothing. It just shows me a check engine light?

Connect it to a code reader scan tool. The engine light codes will tell you some of the reason, but Jeff's answer is far better than mine regarding how all this stuff works..

Chevy impala cuts off while driving

Check for any stored engine codes, this may give you an idea of any problems that may cause your complaint. Possible crank position sensor, cam position sensor or ignition module would cause a 'die in flight' situation.

After washing my chevy impala 2005, 2.4l, the check engine light came on and the motor felt sluggish and sputtering, it's only got 50,000 miles.

Did you wash the engine? If you did, you most likely have water in the spark plug area or within the plug wires. It don't mean you had to wash the engine, but the water can still get there. It may take it a couple of hours to dry out if this is the problem. I have driven one like this for 20-30 min for the engine to dry it out.

Chevy impala 2005, dog chewed off rear licence plate. Pulled out wires, do I have to take full bumper off to check damage. Blinker and lights seem to be working

See if you can pull the wires out just a little and see if there is any bare wire showing. If you can pull any wire out then more than likely the dog couldnt eather.
