try to get an cardreader and connect it to the pc by inserting your memmory in it and then format it if it recognises the memmory...othervise its damaged...

I had the same problem with an HTC Aspire ( I think that's what it was called :} Anyway I formatted the micro SD card in fat 32 through my laptop using a micro sd to sd adapter and the sd card slot on my laptop. I then stuck the micro sd card back into the HTC and it worked. I heard formatting through another phone works too. Try it and let me know.

use a card reader then insert your external memory to it plug it in to the USB .open the my computer icon then right click your device (memory card) select format..

you can check it with other sim card ,if it remains the same problem ,it may be locked to particular network wont accept any sim card other than the particular network ,you can unlock it and used to other network
