All depends on the actual reception in your area ! But Good Quality Radios pick up better / best reception than cheap Radios, If radio has attached aerial , make sure it's connected inside radio.
These types of antenna have poor reception, but should pickup local channels. Check the back of your receiver to make sure the coax is pushed all the way in, and hasn't fallen out. For better reception you could replace the aerial with a mounted aftermarket one. Hope this helps.
U need to make sure that the antena cable is conected at the back of the radio and not broken. If the problem persists take it to a specialist to work on the reception, its minor u wil b enjoying your reception now. Vote if it works. Good luck.
First try getting a good antenna. I don't know what you have BUT STAY AWAY FROM "RUBBER DUCKY" ANTENNA'S!!! Check your SWR's! Make sure the RF Gain is maxed Make sure the SQUELCH is all the way to the left "WILDCAT" IN LAURELVILLE OHIO 35 YEARS OF CB FUN!!!
Is the radio close enough to place it near a window? This should improve your reception. If you live in a building with metal beams in the structure, you could be out of luck.
It mostly depends on your antenna location and how far away you are from other radios. The receive gain can be turned up in most radios. I do it here all day long. dodgem250.com
If you used the 2 plug nissan radio harness, there should be a blue wire on there which is the (power antenna) even if your car doesn't have a power antenna, this wire needs to be connect to power on the am/fm amplified ant which is used in many nissan cars.
if the jensen has a blue or a blue/white wire, connect it to one of those. if not, you can always connect it to the red ACC wire. that should solve your reception problem..
The Connex 4600 Turbo is a very sensitive radio these radios don't work good at all with the stock microphone! The best microphones are the RK-56 and or the Astatic 636L which most people use and you shouldn't get any squeal. And make sure if that you are using an external speaker get it as far away from the radio as you can facing away from the radio so it wont feedback. As far as a Mod kit there are several ways to modify the radio which most are pretty hard and drawn out. but the most easy that used to be used is as simple as a diode placement in the right place which is old school but still works good. You must be very careful as if you are to slightly touch the wrong points the radio could be destroyed and no longer work so caution is to be taken if you don't know what you are doing please don't try it on an expensive radio!! If you want more info on the mod e-mail me
never the less a Modulation kit or modification wont help your Receive it will only help your Transmit signal!!
hi
YES that will b the problem...
if you got a window try puting the system with the ANT outside and see if you recive anything if soo try fixing it there
if u cant..do it the lazy way...:
attach a copper wire (a speaker wire) to the ANT and set its end outside
the longer the wire - the inferior signal you will get
good luck
