Picture went dim, new bulb installed still dim.

Which lights are they and what kind of car or truck is it?

did you use a genuine sony replacement bulb or aftermarket? Often the aftermarket lamps are not up to par with the OEM versions.

if picture dim it is most likely the lamp and resetting the lamp timer will not help that.

Have you tried to do a system reset after installing the new bulb? I'd also check all of the visual settings, now that you've replaced the bulb, the settings will be different. Good luck! Chris [email protected]

The silverstar bulbs while brighter, have a considerably shorter life span than conventional bulbs. If the headlights are dim, it would mean a bad electrical connection most commonly a bad ground. If they are just too dim for your liking and burn at the normal brightness, you might want to consider having auxilliary headlamps installed.

I've seen this in two scenarios.


First: The housing of the bulb is dirty (the lens the bulb lights onto) and the internal screen is dirty also.


The second: The bulb is wired reversely of the proper way to wire it. This will light the bulb, but will not light as bright as when it is wired correctly!

You got a bad ground connection somewhere.
You have a voltage drop,where you shouldn't have,and as a result the bulb is dim.
Check the bulb socket/connector and related wiring, to that head light

you used a spherical bulb, this TV needs a bulb with a parabolic reflector.

Sounds like the color wheel shattered. If you google it, you should find information about replacement parts and installation. I had to go through the same thing a couple years ago.
