Bought an old compaq n610c, has external wifi which picks up the wifi in the house but then loses it ten seconds later. It is stating that "no wireless network card driver present". When is click on IE, the tool bar displays but then says "page cannot be displayed".

hmm.... check if there's an extra slot for wifi.. i u cannot find one you can't put an internel wlan card

FN+F2 is given to disable and enable the wi-fi means once you will press it the wifi will turn on and in second attempt it will turn off.

Check in device manager whether it is showing any wireless ethernet controllerand if not then install.

First you will need a router which will enable you to create a wireless network for your internet connection. I recommend, if you're purchasing online, to use Tigerdirect. Then you would need a USB wireless adapter for your laptop which will enable it to communicate with the wireless router and establish an internet connection.

No, you need not to install soud/audio driver if its work with external speakers. Its seems that the internal speaker of your laptop has got damaged. So you shuld call your vendor for service. If you are in warranty it will be free for you.
