Ditto rjivaro, except the windows emulation part. Most applications can be replaced with actual linux compatible ones, however there a some (mostly games) that can not. Wine is your friend for games except that you will have a reduction in frame-rate as the system has to convert dx to opengl and back again. Best to keep a small windows install for game playing. Non linux games anyway

Its all things good ;) the definition for it is: open-source version of the UNIX operating system.

So another words its free OS
But personally I like ubuntu way better thin fedora.

A free software operating system based on Linux was created and it was named Ubuntu. It offers all services needed by ISPs, mail servers, DNS servers, FTP servers, MySQL servers, POP3/POP3s/IMAP/IMAPs, Quota, and Firewalls. Red hat, Apache and Ubuntu are Linux software distributors. Ubuntu is widely used because it is free and you don't have to pay any licensing fee. Updates are also available for free and accessible online.
To install Ubuntu Linux software you can use the program "Wubi."
The first thing to do is to download Wubi to your desktop and then run the executable program. Then choose the drive in your computer where you want your installation to go. Wubi will place a file on your local drive. It will use this drive as a virtual hard drive. Most often the C drive is used for this purpose. Choose a bigger installation size to allow installation of other programs and storage of data. Choose your language. Type in your username and then your password for security reasons and for your installation to proceed. When the installation files have completely been downloaded, you have to reboot. Restart your computer. Building your own computer? Just get linux and install your games through the linux program called WINE. linux should automatically have and detect all your drivers so you can install them.

If you have updated with the latest updates, from 3.21 if I remember correctly you now basically have a games console. If you are on earlier firmware you can install another operating system, namely Linux. The PS3 is not quite powerful enough to play games and such in Linux but it can be a reliable internet browsing/word processing computer. If you google installing Linux on a PS3 there is a lot of information on how to do it.

try to install wine player in ubuntu so tht u can install windows apps in linux..!!

there in lies the problem, you can run most games made for pc on ubuntu using wine, but if you don't have the correct display driver your fps will be horrible. there is also an app you can get made specifically for certain games called Play-On-Linux, apt-get install playonlinux. they also have a website, so you can try and google it

Yes, the PS3 had an Integrated web browser so internet access is possible with it, you can use a usb mouse and usb keyboard as well...Its not as easily navigated as a PC but it will do most things online. Another option you have is to install Linux on the ps3 by creating a 10g partition, when you do this you loose all saved game data on your system but you can do a system backup prior to installing linux. all you need is an external usb drive to back up your system.
