I have an Hp mini 2140 borrowed from my brother. and now i have a problem regarding the battery which i can't solve to no avail. even searches in the net did not give me any solution. it runs on windows xp professional edition. the problem is that when i pull the power supply, the battery shows 0%. and when i put the power supply cable back on, it only shows 0% charging but it just stays there and never goes up. i've tried uninstalling the acpi-compliant control power method and reinstalling it but it did not solve any of it. i've tried removing the battery and putting it back on. nothing also happened. so i wonder, is my battery really broke or there's a bigger problem in the system? because i've also tried pulling out the power supply cable and tried to see how long the netbook lasts without the power supply cable and it lasted around 10 minutes so that means the battery is really not at 0% at all. help me please.

I recommend removing and reinstalling the CMOS battery but you will need to open up your laptop to do this. Otherwise, this link provides some software options to cracking and resetting the password:

On the second page of this guide, you will see a circular yellow battery (the CMOS battery) depicted in step 5. This is what needs to be popped out, wait several seconds and put it back in.
The Brother HL-2140 does not include duplex printing. The only option for double sided printing with this model is to print odd numbered pages, then manually replace the paper into the tray and print the even numbered pages in a second set.
i highly recommend u find a way to remove the pin as u would struggle to find a dc power jack for the hp mini 2140 motherboard ,if u manage to get the pin out ac power chargers are quite resonable on some internet auction sites
