APC Back-UPS ES 350 - UPS ( external ) - 350 VA - UPS battery lead acid - 6 output connector(s) (NEWITEM13161548) UPS System Logo
Anonymous Posted on Dec 08, 2010

I have an APC ES-350 hooked up to a flat screen tv with amplifier and a radio. The tv and amplifier were on and all of a sudden there is a steady continual alarm coming from the ES-350. We've only had the battery back less than six months. I turned the tv and amplifier off then turned off the battery back up, then waited and turned it back on and within a few seconds the alarm came back on. Is there batteries in this unit that need to be changed????

Yes there are replaceable batteries but if yours is only 6 months old and was new this should not be the problem. That said, batteries only have a certain lifespan from the date of manufacture. If it sat on a shelf for a long time before it was sold the battery could be junk.

Is the tone continuous? If so this is the overload alarm.

Found an APC UPS 350 in the garbage, seems to work, but I don't understand the difference between having the power button engaged or not because both ways it seems to power my devices.

you may have a defective switch that is on/off button and is not serviceable.
I suggest you purchase a new APC model and by pass the headache here unless this is a project. You will need to take this unit apart and then call the manufacturer for a new part that may or may not be available or the unit is discontinued.

APC Back-UPS ES 350 - when powered on has a blinking green light Is this normal

A blinking green light is likely an indication that the internal battery is nearing the end of its usable life cycle. If it's over 3 years old this is likely the case. To test, plug something in to the battery outlets and pull the plug of the UPS from the wall. If you get a short runtime (or none at all) it's the battery. Batteries are under $20 and can be found here: http://www.batteryinternational.com/apc-backups-es-be350u-ups-battery-ups-batteries-f1.html

Need charging instructions for apc back-ups es 350

Take off the bottom cover and make sure the battery is connected (both terminals).
Plug the unit into a wall outlet.
Press the power button to turn it on. Leave it plugged in for 8 hours to charge the battery. Do this with nothing plugged into the unit.

Done.

APC external Backup battery is not working plz

It may just need a new battery. The UPS will do a self test on the battery when you turn it on. It may have tried to read the battery and the result came back as "failed". The batteries last about 3-5 years, even less if you live in an area with bad power. The batteries are very easy to change. You can buy replacements at www.batteryinternational.com/apc-backups-es-be350es-ups-battery-ups-batteries-f1.html

APC ES-350 won't turn on; all I see is a blinking light.

Try looking for a small circuit breaker on the side that says "press to reset" - you could have tripped it accidentally when you unplugged the iPod.  Also, try pressing and holding the UPS power switch for 10-15 seconds.  That should force a power on as well.

APC ES350 strange noise

My solution was to unplug everything, hit the reset button, and then power the unit back up. The problem I found to be that I had my laser printer connected to the "surge + battery" side, and for some reason no laser printer can be connected to it.
