Horn Same question I still need the second part of the problem answered.

The Horn doesn't have a speaker, the 'horn' is the thing that makes the noise in the front of the car.

not the alarm horn but the steering wheel, center horn button ,right?
answering for USA 99 only water cooled

well , can be a few things ,old cars and lots more new.
bad ground at horn tops the list (rusty) and had 23year to rust.
bad horn can be bench tested hot wired.
bad wiring to horn end to end
bad relay horn if present.
back steering clock spring]
bad horn button.

USA car not told country and they are not the same some cars have 2 horns, high/low tone if one only is dead that is bingo easy answer.

the Dual horns use single relay, sol if both are dead, check the relay.
signal wire 75 powers the relay. and H button connect to the relay pin86 coil, the switch grounds the 86 pin on the relay and it energizes. the relay;.beep, done./

Recheck the settings. I believe you can do this threw the radio. I have seen to many computers that just loose their programming. PCM's wipe clean. Can't say why. Just did. Had them programmed and all was good.

yes, good, no bad fuse.
got 0v to other relay coil (all tests honking)
yes, bad relay.
no, bad horns switch.

if you want me to guess. sure.
1: bad wires ../connections, end to end.
2 bad horn
3: bad relay
4: bad horn switch.

A horn with a single wire connection will be earthed out internally and through the body fixture. Horns that have 2 connections are either internally earthed as explained and the second terminal is to pass the power over to a second horn . . If both terminals are under the one rivet and insulate from the horn body then It is used in parallel with a second horn If the terminals are separated and attached to different areas of the body and are insulated from the body then one will be an earth wire.

You would need to test the wires with a voltage meter. You will have to get to the wires that go to the horn and test them for power. A bad horn fuse can also cause this, as well as a bad horn button.

Hello hthmases: My name is Roger and I will help with your question> The horn fuse is located in the fuse box under the hood. The fuse is in location (R) in the box. Look on the cover for the location it will be a 15 amp fuse and blue in color. If the fuse is ok I would have some one push the horn pad while I listened for the relay to click. The relay is located on the left fender in the corner to the right of the master cylinder. If the relay does click I would suspect a bad horn. HI, NO JUST TAKE THE SCREWS OUT PULL THE HORN OUT UNPLUG THE AIRBAG ALONG WITH THE HORN.

If you are getting water in the fuse box, it could be shorting the system out and in turn the horn would blow. Some manufactures put 2 fuses for the horn too. One for the horn and one for the horn relay. That is another one, maybe the relay is bad or wet. Hope i put some light on your answer. Good luck!!

There are a few things that it could be.

The horn is defective. You can test it by hooking 12v to it directly.

The relay is defective.

The horn switch is defective

The fuse is blown.

There is no power to the circuit.

First check fuse.
Second check horn.
Third check horn switch or bypass switch to test
Fourth check relay.
