I have a 1994 Nissan Sentra. It has approximately 179,000, miles. First it start cutting off when I make turns to the left, but would start right back up. Now it cutting off when I make a complete stop and when I make left turns. This have been going on for at least 3 -5 months. I don't know what to do, could it possible be my Air Flow Meter needs to be replace, if so the part along is over $600.00. This cutting off problem have me weary of going anywhere. Please help.
Get a Chiltons/Haynes manual for your make/model/year and go to the troubleshooting section. It sounds like the same thing my little rabbit did years ago. Turns out it needed new fuel filters and the fuel tank flushed. The gunk kept impeding fuel flow. Didn't do good things for the fuel pump either.

Is the check engine light on?? You may have a stretched timing chain, but the only way to check that is to remove the valve cover and look at the timing chain tensioner to see if it is way out of the housing. We see chains on those stretch and cause a running issue like the one that you are descibing, because its out of time. Just a pointer, not a solution, but something worth looking into.

do you have the right light bulb? i own a 98 sentre and
it takes a 9004 bulb, but walmarts computer said to use 9007. That made the high beam censor stay on till i replaced it. if you look at the bulb you can tell if it is a dual or single beam bulb.!!!!

You have 2 Problems, First problem batteries dying you have to make sure connections secure and alternator is charging your batteries (go to an Autozone or Discount advanced they will tell you). The Sputtering is either a bad SPARK PLUG or a damaged Cable going to the spark plug..Change them every 2 years.
