If you disconect the wires to the cartridge and whilst switched on, touch each wire with your finger one at a time, you should hear a buzz on each channel (if stereo), from two of the wires. If you don't then there is something up with the electronic part. If you do hear the buzz then the cartridge has gone.

To connect a music player or other audio device to your laptop
If your laptop has a line-in jack, follow the instructions above for connecting a music player to a desktop computer. But to connect a music player or other audio device to most laptops, you'll have to plug it into a microphone jack. To do so, follow these steps:

Click to open Sound.

Click the Recording tab, click Microphone, and then click Properties.

Click the Listen tab, click the Listen to this device check box, and then click Apply.

Click the Levels tab and make sure the Mute button looks like this . If the button looks like this , click it to turn on sound for this connection, and then click Apply.

Play some music or other sounds on your device to test the volume coming through your computer speakers. Select the slider under Microphone, drag it right or left to increase or decrease the volume of your audio device, and then click OK. You might also want to adjust the volume on your device.

Note
If you hear noise coming out of your speakers, try reducing the volume on both the music player and in the Levels tab. The microphone jack is designed to receive sound from a microphone, which is different than sound coming from a music player

Speaker volume is too low in my turntable setup. How can I fix it?

remove rca plugs from speaker wires and wire the speakers to speaker connections on the back of receiver. The receiver may already have a phono input for a turntable.

Should I be hearing only music and background noise from the surround speakers. I do not hear voices, just music, background noise, applause, etc. thanks,,!

Yes, for most movies the surround speakers are for music and background. Unless the person speaking is supposed to be behind you, the voice will not come from there.

Fix wind noise in speaker of my garrard 3006 mk 2 vintage record player,?

My question is, do you hear music when you play a record, or is only "wind" coming out of the speakers?
The player was build in 1964 with Germanium transistors. These transistors are known for their noise level. But in those days nobody noticed this, because all transistor amplifies had noise.

If there is no sound at all, only noise, it can't be that difficult to repair the amplifier. There must be some schematics around on the net. Be aware you need a Xtal PU element and it won't be easy to get one of these.
I found an interesting page on the net. It is a pity the schematic is not 100% clear.

Still need to know how to download music from cell phone to the Omnitech Bluetooth speakerphone everything else works except for music playing on my bluetooth

You do not download music from your cell phone to your Bluetooth speaker. You pair and connect your cell phone with the speaker via Bluetooth and when you listen to music or make phone calls on your phone the sound comes out through the speaker. Please read the instructions on how to connect the phone to the speaker.from the set up guide that came with the speaker.
